Ok, i gotta know. the brand says cubitron & the manufacturer shows 3m. the photo shows 3m scotch-bride. is this 3m or a knock off?

It's genuine 3M. cubitron is just the model name for the burgundy colored pads

Is this equivalent to the 3m Scotch-Brite maroon general purpose hand pads (#7447)?

Hmm. I would say yes. I think those are what you get at Home Depot or the parts store. These were perfect for prepping for paint.

Is this like 60 grit or less sandpaper? I am looking for the coarsest Scotch Brite available

This is the coarsest Scotch-Brite pad. It’s more like 100-150.

Excellent Prep for Painting!

The 3M Scotch-Brite Primer Prep Scuff is a fantastic product for preparing surfaces before painting. It’s easy to use, and the 4-3/4 in x 15 ft size is just right for most projects. It effectively scuffs the surface, helping the primer and paint adhere better, without damaging the underlying material. I’ve used it on metal and plastic, and it’s worked great on both! The scuffing leaves a nice uniform texture that’s perfect for getting a smooth finish. Definitely recommend it for any prep work before painting!
