Great for first time RBT’s
I bought this book when I first started in ABA. And I passed it on to other new RBTs. It has been very helpful and I haven’t seen it since I guess I need to buy a new one. I can’t even post a picture, but it was very simple understanding explanation of ABA terminology.

Cute Book that is informative!
This is a great general overview of ABA therapy for non-verbal toddlers. It's a great guide if you want a quick reference to keep on hand. However, I gave this a 4, because I feel as though the book is a little too short and could offer a wee bit more information. With that said, it was still worth purchasing to keep in my personal collection.

Author has no knowledge of subject matter
This book is clearly written by someone who had no idea what ABA is. The first several pages are riddled with errors about things as basic as the credentials and even the NAME of the field. It’s Applied Behavior Analysis, not Applied Behavioral Analysis, the RBTs are Registered Behavior Technicians, it’s the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, not the Behavior Analysis Certification Board, it’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst, not Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. These are trademarked terms which I’m sure the author does not have permission to mangle. The errors only increase exponentially from there. The description of using a high probability behavior as a method of increasing accuracy of low probability behavior is, frankly, idiotic. This was clearly written by someone who googled random ABA terms and slapped them in a word document without any concern for accuracy or basic understanding to even know if what she was writing is even remotely correct. She is unqualified to try to teach anyone anything about ABA. In her bio she claims to have finished the free training for the RBT but she is not an RBT. You would think after the 40 hour training she would at least know the actual name of the credential she’s going for. There are no formal references/works cited section as well which is a huge no no. Do not buy this money grab of a book.

Small, informational
The only thing I disliked was on page 21, the te as Ching of the sign “more”. A child should not be able to sign for more unless they can assign what they want. This is not the best sign to start with. Everything in the child’s environment should be labeled verbally or with signs.

Great read
I truly enjoyed reading about ABA therapy with toddlers. As a preschool teacher, I do a lot of these things already but it is nice to know the exact benefits of each practice. It was a very easy read and has a lot of great information to share with families as well.

The use of simple every day language. The practicalities of the strategies presented in the book makes it an awesome read.

This book is like an introduction to the world of ABA therapy. All the things associated with ABA are actually presented in the right sequence. Being a parent, I highly recommend this book for everyone struggling with trying to teach their child with special needs.

I liked this book very much , because as a complete beginners in the ABA method, it helps me quickly grasb the terminology used that can be hard to understand is you are just starting out.

I should have listened to the other reviews. This book is so small it can basically fit in a pocket. There is nothing in here that I couldn’t have figured out with a quick google search. The suggestions are very broad and the resources are basically “just search on Teachers Pay Teachers”. Unhelpful unfortunately.

Tiny book with basically definitions of different ABA keywords. No practical knowledge to apply in therapy sessions. Kind of pointless as all this information can be easily looked up online! So save your money.
