Yes as long as you make it too short where it's over stretched.

How are the quality of these Metallic Elastic Cords?

Not great. The color is very brassy instead of the gold I was wanting and the card itself is loose and ravels quite a bit. It’s ok for what I’m using it for but I wouldn’t buy again.
