181538 Sprayer Parts Repair Kit

Worked flawlessly. Definitely cheaper than buying a new sprayer, and not the sprayer works like new. The Roundup sprayers are very high quality, I have been using this one for about 15 years, and now I should get another 15.Cleaning the inside of the pump took the most time. otherwise it is a 5 minute rebuild.

Much better than paying another $25 for a new sprayer after a year my original seal finally cracked and this $6 kit got me back to killing weeds. A old farmer at the feed store said to use olive oil on them to keep them from getting dried and brittle

I have an old Roundup sprayer that has been my favorite for years, when it quit pumping I looked to purchase another but was shocked by the new prices and saw this rebuild kit. Since the only thing wrong was the pump, and this kit was on sale for $5, I took the risk and ordered. Arrived very quickly and instructions in ad and back of card show how to replace the seals. Disassembly was a little tricky and needed a third hand, but easy then. Wow, the insides of the pump were loaded with junk and goo. After agood cleaning, I replaced the gasket, seal and bottom plug and reassembled using a slight amount of petroleum jelly as they say. What a difference, the pump is much more effecient and takes less strokes to pressurize and I saved a bundle for about a half hours work which entailed mostly cleaning the pump parts. Super pleased, always good to spend effort and save $$$.

Based on the review of another here, I thought I would give it a try.This package (Roundup 181538 repair kit) clearly indicates the two sprayers that it is intended for... Roundup and Ortho with ML & 'O' style tanks so no surprise that it is not an exact fit.My sprayer (2016 Smith Contractor 190216-2 2 gallon) had a hard time creating pressure (x100 pumps for minimal pressure) but once pressurized, it seemed to hold for the current job. The package contains 2 different 'O' rings... the smaller of the two looked to be too small and the larger was bigger than the original. I installed the larger and although it is a bit sloppy, it works great. The smaller one MAY work too but I just wanted a tighter fit inside the pump walls. Now, each and every pump pressurizes the sprayer. I also replaced the check valve located at the end, just for good measure. I do bleed the system after each use so I may never notice the potential improvement. I did not try or use any of the other replacement parts.I have a fully functioning sprayer again. The weeds never saw see me coming :-)

I purchased 2 of these Round Up 1 gallon hand pump sprayer repair kits. The one way check valve on the bottom of the hand pump is an exact fit and seals the bottom of the hand pump by preventing air and liquid from entering the hand pump . The smaller of the 2 O-rings that fits near the bottom of the actual pump handle is an exact fit. It doesn’t allow air and liquid to escape into the hand pump itself. The smaller rubber gasket that fits on the outside of the Hand Pump. That seals the hand pump to the 1 gallon tank Is an exact fit. No air escapes and seals the hand pump to the 1 gallon container perfectly. First I took apart the hand pump. The instructions to do so for a Round Up hand pump sprayer are printed on the back of the repair kit. Then I cleaned the inside and outside of the hand pump and the 1 gallon tank with dish soap and a bottle brush using hot water from my kitchen faucet. I dried the inside of the hand pump using 2 paper towels. Then I applied some silicone grease to the top edge on the inside of the hand pump. I applied a small amount of silicone grease to the O-ring,one way check valve and to the gray rubber seal.I picked both of the 1 gallon Round Up hand pump sprayers out of the trash. All both of them needed was the Round Up Hand Pump Sprayer repair kits. By Picking the sprayers out of the trash. It Prevented them from going to the landfill. The kit even comes with an adjustable sprayer for the end of spray wand. The cost of the repair kits are very reasonable. My old hand pump sprayer has a stainless steel tank and it started leaking. I did weld the area it was leaking with stainless steel welding rod. Now I’ve 3 hand pump sprayers. Allowing me to use each individual sprayer for cleaners, insecticides and Round Up weed killer. I only use round up when absolutely necessary and only enough for the job.

Perfect fit

I decided to try this repair kit instead of buying a new sprayer. In hindsight, I should have just spent the extra $8 and just bought a new sprayer. My sprayer would not keep any pressure and I was hoping this kit would contain all the washers to rebuild my Roundup sprayer. I'm giving it 3 stars because it DID contain the washer that was the cause of my problem but I was lucky. It did not contain the washer on the sprayer hose where it connects to the bottle. Plus in the time it took me to disassemble the pump portion of the sprayer and replace those washers, I could have run up to my local hardware store, bought a new sprayer, and been done with my project.
