A Story Every Little Boy Needs to Hear
In this beautifully illustrated book an insightful mother teaches her son Caleb and his friend David that true strength consists of doing the right thing. “Strength is more than big muscles, you see. Strength on the inside makes you the strongest you can be.”While the boys pretend to be superheroes—picking up heavy objects, jumping from chair to chair—Caleb’s Mommy explains they can develop inner strength by doing the right thing, even when it’s hard. They can show sportsmanship and forgive those who offend by relying on God to help them be strong on the inside.Author Michelle Lazurek developed the idea for this book after watching her son help a friend pick up spilled crayons. In a world where sports figures get much attention, this book helps young boys learn how to develop true inner strength rather than just build muscles. This book will be especially valuable for boys with disabilities since the character of David sports an artificial running leg. “Mommy, Am I Strong?” and its companion book for girls--“Daddy, Am I Beautiful?”--will go a long way to help children develop strength of character and make good choices in a world that emphasizes physical appearance and prowess. These are priceless books to give as gifts for they can mold a child’s character at a critical time of life.

Loved this book
I was excited to see this book and purchased it for my 4 year old granddaughter and 9 year old grandson. Their daddy suddenly died just over 2 months ago and they are having such a hard time adjusting to this and were afraid to go to sleep in their own rooms. The book covers different ways to be strong but the best thing is having God be their strength. It is a book to read many times to remind them they are strong with God's help. I was glad I could get this book and will refer it to others as a with both thumbs up. Kudos to Michelle S. Lazurek for writing a very meaningful book.

Strength is More than Big Muscles
Powerful! Every mommy needs to read Mommy, Am I Strong? to their little boys. Michelle S. Lazurek teaches what every boy needs to know — Strength is more than big muscles. A true super heroes' strength comes from within by doing the really hard things, like saying "I'm sorry." To top off Lazurek's strong message, Scott Pinks' illustrations portray the lead character, David, as a boy with an artificial leg. There's nothing artificial about David as he learns a lesson the world needs to realize.~Elaine W. Michelle beautifully demonstrates that in her children's books
Whether you are a boy or girl, the ideas of beauty and strength are usually addressed in the physical. But that is not how God views those ideas. He works from the inside out. Michelle beautifully demonstrates that in her children's books. Focusing on asking God for help or being kind and loving are the qualities that matter. Those are the traits that draw others to Christ. I am grateful that there are resources like Michelle's books that can be shared in any environment to connect with children so that they can see their true worth.

Awesome Book !
Michelle S. Lazurek helps us realize that being strong on the inside is a very important part of growing up. Sometimes it is very hard to be strong enough to say "I"m sorry", or to help some one. Being able to run fast , or pick up heavy things is great, but we really struggle to be a good loser, or to forgive someone. We all need God's Grace to help us know how to get through so many difficult situations! Awesome Book!
