This is a good one.
This torch works great. Handles propane and map gas like it owns it. Duel gas flow adjustment at the tank and torch tip, very convenient. Easy to use, just screw regulated on tank,it's the only labor involved. Gas hose is longer then most. Automatic electric igniter works great. I tried 3 other brands before I got this one, it's a good one.

My first torch wasn’t adjustable. This was and I was happy just for that. Overall it did fit my needs.

most important to use outside or with very good exhaust fan, NICE HOT FLAME
Many of the cast brass elements of the torch seemed to be very rough still, they have not been finished to a high enough standard. There seems to be way more "exhaust gas / unburnt gas" than all the other MAPP gas torches I current own and use. I use MAPP gas torches quite often in my garage and my basement. so i am quite used to the amount of combustion gasses generated buy there use. This torch does seem to generate a nice HOT flame but I suspect the carburetor portion of this unit needs to be better tuned to mix in more outside air than it is currently. The combustion byproducts generated during use are far greater than all the other torches I own and use. so much so, that I felt the need to leave the area and move to fresh air after only a short period of time. the area needed to be evacuated with an exhaust fan for a decent amount of time before the air quality improved.

Excellent little torch, and a pleasant upgrade from my old Turbotorch with out a hose.
I've long known that I needed a Turbotorch-type torch with a hose. Why? Because it's just too damn hard to work in a confined space with a traditional Turbotorch that mounts directly to a bottle of gas. And that's precisely what I've been doing for the past 30+ years.I'd gotten accustomed to using the old torch, trying to get my body into a position that would allow me to swing the entire bottle/torch assembly around in a way that would adequately heat the copper fitting. I never realized that I would put up with this for so long.Getting older is great for impressing upon you the need to upgrade your gear to make life easier for yourself. This is one of those things, sort of a little treat that you give yourself, once you realize that you're getting a bit too old, and a bit too fat for all these challenging confined spaces.I had wished for a typical household plumbing emergency where I would really test the new torch out. If it were 2-3 weeks ago I had one at my daughter's home, and this would have been perfect. Unfortunately the best I could do now was to bench test this unit, and see how it performs in (close to) ideal conditions.I cut up some hard copper 3/4" tubing, and got some fittings, silver solder, and flux. I cleaned all the cut pieces. I went to work.Yes, this was far less challenging than working in a space that was half my girth, or squeezing my oversized frame under a sink somewhere. I was working from a stationary bench vise, my old 187lb. Chas. Parker... great for this task.Manipulating the torch was so simple, that I had to chuckle. The hose setup was everything I had imagined for the past 30+ years. I could do pirouettes with my hands around the hard copper, creating a perfectly sweat joint, easily. Truthfully, my sweat joints were never what one would consider "pretty", but I made them exactly as I would on a job, and even wiped the joint for a nice finish. On a couple of the joints I put an extra fillet of solder around the shoulder of the joint, a trick I had learned from a friend who had done solar panel installations for heating. The torch was excellent, and a pleasure to work with. I realized that it was not a real Turbotorch (the brand), but it worked the same in every respect. Even shutting down the mapp gas made the same "hush" sound. Sweet! The built in igniter is a great feature, as well. I never had luck using a traditional torch striker, but always opted for a handheld disposable lighter as an igniter. Invariably, getting set up meant a trip back to the toolbox for the lighter, which was always forgotten. This is no longer a problem.I love the freedom that this torch gives you. So often when plumbing you find yourself in a space that can barely accommodate you, let alone you and a torch. Yet I had done so for so many years. So many frustrating years. If there was one negative it had to be the hose length. Pros will immediately notice the difference in hose length and the hose length on a premium torch, such as the Turbotorch. It makes sense to me (in a way) that this is a shorter hose, since it connects to a smaller propane or mapp gas bottle. The bottle itself can easily follow you into a tight, confined space. This is not the case for a pro using a larger acetylene tank, which would just be unwieldy in the tight confines.Pick up one of these. Trust me. If not for the freedom it will give you, do it because you'll be saving about $150+ over the real deal. That's a lot of dough. And one more thing: This torch will accommodate both propane and mapp gas. Don't waste your time with propane when sweating pipes. The mapp is the way to go.This is a cool toy. I'm happy I treated myself to this one.
