If it is a 12V system, then you can use it to charge your battery. If it is a 24V system, then you cannot use it to charge your battery.

Can I replace the 3 amp fuse on the included o-ring cable adapter with a 5 amp fuse?

I don't know but using a larger fuse may damage the unit.

The number of hours for a 12 volt car battery needs to be fully charged depends on the size of the battery and the level of discharge. A general guideline that I go by is the battery size in Amp Hours (AH) and divide by the Amp rating of the charger, so I figure a 60 AH battery might need 12 hours (60AH / 5A). Ambient temperature, age of battery and chemistry type of the battery can also have an influence on the amount of time to reach a full charge.
