En Concert

Alizée Jacotey had a series of concerts following the release of her second studio album ( Mes Courants Electriques ) from 2003 to 2004 where she performs hits from both albums (the first being  Gourmandises ). A DVD of the same performances was released as well  Alizee En Concert . This concert was a lot of fun and Alizée performs very well live in front of large crowds. You can feel the excitement and enthusiasm in her voice. Despite occasionally being a bit short of breath from her dancing and running on and off-stage (for costume changes), her voice, singing, showmanship and playfulness are as fantastic as on the studio albums.It seems rare that a musicians sounds as well in live performances, but you will not be disappointed here. The instrumental arrangement for most of the songs are a bit different from the studio versions, but they are interestingly and well done. Highlights include "Hey! Amigo!," "Mon Maquis," "J'en Ai Marre!," "Youpidou" and "A Contre-Courant." I highly recommend this blend of French pop, soulful ballads and lively music.

Very enjoyable concert from Alizee with a great performance. She sings songs from her first two albums Gourmandises and Mes Courantes Electriques. So from what I understand is that this CD+DVD combo pack was re-released exclusively in Mexico and some parts of Asia. If you buy this edition it should work on Region 1, U.S dvd players. Since the formats are in region 1 and MPEG which are compatible, and it worked on mine. I would recommend this if your a fan of Alizee, great singer and love the french language.

After watching the live concert video on YouTube, I managed to find a new copy of the CD. It was expensive, but I don't regret buying it. Even though the lyrics are entirely French, which I don't understand a word of, I love listening to it. I only wish she were more popular in the the U.S. Now, if I could only find an officially released non-pirated copy of the DVD in NTSC format <sigh>.

I watch alizee concert too much that I don't get some of the work needed to be done.

IMO live music is never as good as the studio mixed. I shouldn't have bought this.

Beautiful natural singer from Corsica, I knew her work through the Internet, because here in Brazil she is unknown. I have never heard and seen another French singer that combines such melodious voice, excellent repertoire choice and stunning looks... the DVD should be even better than the CD!

der wird hiermit auch seine freude haben .... alle bekannten songs ein bisschen anders arrangiert ... klingen live teilweise interessanter als auf den alben ... für fans ein MUSS!
