Zoo Med Aquatic Frog & Tadpole Food

Happy to report that all of the frogs in the aquariums in my home really seem to like these pellets.

My fish goes crazy about it!

I dug a pond earlier this year. I treated the water against mosquitoes & algae, but I wondered how I would get frogs and reptiles to move into a place where there was no algae or mosquito larvae to eat. This stuff is the answer! Whenever I saw a frog visiting my pond, I'd sprinkle some of this food into it. Well, I think some wild frogs have to be entrained in order to recognize this as food, but others will gobble it up right away. I kept adding a little now and then, and now my pond has its first permanent residents. Very nice! UPDATE: I've had tadpoles in my pond for about a month. They never go for the food when I sprinkle it - but, they must be eating it because it always disappears in a couple days. I guess not many wild frogs will clamber to the water surface to eat these, unless they are raised or trained on it. They don't come up and wait for it like a fish would. But it's still great stuff and helps me support the critters :)

This is great food. Price is fantastic too. We caught some tadpoles and plan to raise them and release them after they turn to frogs. These pellets are tiny and sink to the bottom where the tadpoles can get to them easily. The tadpoles eat them after the food has soaked a while and softened up. So far they are eating and growing nicely.

The best frog food I have used! I’ve been using this for years and my frogs love it. The value is definitely fair for what you get. The only complaint I could have is that after a while it gets moldy, but that’s just due to age I’m sure.

tadpole food....my pig's mud hole gets tadpoles and then frogs every year. Many of them are tree frogs....I like frogs so I feed them.

I have two African Dwarf Frogs that are in a 10 gallon tank along with a male betta and a mystery snail. When the frogs were new, they were extremely shy, and they were hesitant to eat. I would leave frozen blood worms in a terracotta dish outside their little hideout but was not sure if they were eating much of the worms. I also assumed that my betta would eat at least some of those worms even though he was well fed. I bought this frog food for three reasons: 1. it sinks (no-brainer); 2. I could strategically place it; and 3. I did not think my betta would like it all that much. The product has worked exactly as expected. It indeed sinks, and I can take it from the surface and let it slowly sink to the terracotta. I add a bit around the bowl, too, as the frogs like to scavenge. It doesn't take much to feed them. The betta turns his nose up to these, thankfully. If the frogs aren't out at night I can just drop a few pellets into the bowl then turn out the lights and know the frogs will find it overnight. This container is huge; it is going to last me a long, long time even if I feed my frogs nightly. This has also helped them to get used to where they will be fed. Now I can use a turkey baster and feed them worms straight from the baster and provide them variety along with these pellets. I would guess these would work exceptionally well in outside ponds or with lots of frogs. I am very satisfied.

El envase venía abierto, los pelles son minúsculos y no flotan, por lo cual para las ranas «normales» no valen aunque quizá si para renacuajos, y el precio es desorbitado. No lo recomiendo de ninguna manera.

Das Beste Futter für meine Dendrobaten und Phyllobaten. Die Kaulquappen fressen und wachsen dadurch sehr gut. Hab vieles ausprobiert und kein Vergleich zu diesem Produkt. Ich verwende es schon einige Jahre. Endlich wieder angeboten. Es ist zwar teuer aber sehr ergiebig. Hab mir einen Vorrat angelegt. Ich habe ca 300 Qappen im Jahr und verbrauche maximal 2 Dosen.
