Work well to keep foxtails out
I got these because I walk off-trail in the woods and fields a lot. My boots will accumulate large quantities of foxtails, burs, and other annoyances. Gaiters are a must if you go off-trail. They will help keep mosquitoes and ticks off as well. However, the bottom of the gaiter is not sealed, so ticks can still crawl inside. It will help since the surface is smooth and a tick would have a more difficult time climbing the outside of these. The real benefit is that these keep out those thorns and sharp foxtails. (The ones that get stuck in your socks and poke your feet.) The gaiter is held in place with a strap that goes under your hiking boot. There is a clip on the front to secure it to your laces, which provides a nice anchor point. The front closes securely with Velcro. If you wear these with shorts, just know that your legs will sweat inside! If you wear long pants, then you should not notice it as much. The top is secured with a strap that goes through a buckle, so it can be tightened as much as you want below the knee. I did find it snug around the calf though. I got size L.

Read and think twice, or maybe three times.
I order this item on Amazon on 2/5/22, and received it on 2/15/ 22. It took some practice getting them on. The velcro strip that brought the piece together was very strong. I hooked the shoelace buckle into place, and adjusted the TPU strap, and buckled the top adjustment for the leg. Now the issues. The TPU strap was way too long. I pulled the strap past the velcro limits and it wasn’t even close to tightening unto my shoe. The top leg strap failed to tightened enough to keep the snow from going inside the pant leg. So you ask why don’t I send them back? The item was $15.99. It would cost me $6.00 to ship them back, so why bother. Time to Macgyver them, to a usable item.

missing lace hook
Returned, since hook missing (poor quality control). Under boot plastic strap stitch attachment to leggings looked like a weak point, but would have kept gaiters but for lack of one lace hook.

Poor quality
These didn’t work out as well as I had hoped for sadly. I do full time lawn care and work in most cases 7 days a week I use these to protect my legs when weed eating. A year prior to buying these I had bought a different brand from Amazon which held up extremely well for a little over a year so I thought I would try these. These here didn’t last a month when all of a sudden the buckle that tightens the strap around my knee broke. I had to just throw them away. I reordered the other pair that I had ordered originally
