Yes. However, the gears will continue to turn.

I have not investigated this, but I don't believe the parts or accessories are interchangeable with other brands.

How well does the blender crush ice?

It’s pretty good. I didn’t chop it for long enough when I used it, so they were crushed. I couldn’t tell you if it chops finely or not though.
