Pros- Nice solid plastic, not thin and collapsible like water bottles.. Food, water and bowls all in one.Easy to clean even with man hands.Economically portable design.Cons- threads on lids are thin so cross threading is possible if not careful.Pop in lid for food jar bad design and difficult to seal, should be molded a little deeper and contain rubber o-ring to ensure proper seal. (However the water bowl screws on top creating a seal so this is only relevant while the bowls are in use.)Factory deburring is mediocre.. you may need to tidy up some edges with fine grit sand paper.All in all a nice product and makes meals on the go a breeze with a well designed portable all in one food station.

will give it 3 stars, great idea, useful, BUT little water canteen lousy design. Cap in middle of canteen makes it hard to pour water, maybe if top part was dome shaped directing water to the nozzle, would work better. Food retaining lid doesn't secure easily and has to be pressed on, giving greater chance to break the plastic food jar. Doesn't hold much water compared to amount of food, barely enough for a dogs sip.Giving the height of what is most likely the water dish, there's plenty of wasted space, water canteen could be 1 1/2 x taller.Does not have to be limited to pet food, but trail mix, juice using seperate containers for front and back seat passengers, they can get their own drink

I bought this for a friend who makes frequent two day car trips with his dog. I assume there is enough food capacity for a large breed dog for two days. I do wish the manufacturers would put the food capacity in the product info section. Even so, it probably won't hold enough for more than three days, but that's okay for short trips. It's pretty handy. The water portion is probably a waste of space, since I have other easier means of providing my dog with water. but it's nice that the two dishes are built in. It helps to minimize the dog's travel gear, which sometimes seems to exceed my own. Spoiled dog.

This mess kit really simplifies the preparation for trips with your dog. I take it with me when I take my pup to the park. The food canister holds six cups of kibble (or half that much plus a baggie of treats), and the attached food and water bowls make a handy, compact unit. The bowls are sturdy and a good size for a small or medium-sized dog. The only part of it that falls short is the poorly-designed water canteen - it holds 12 oz. of water, but you can't empty it without repeated shaking. Also, the threading on its cap seems a little fuzzy. I keep water in it for an emergency, but normally I just use my own water bottle. The food canister and the two bowls give me what I need in a single, convenient unit at a very low price. Very pleased with this item.

Great compact travel buddy for your pet. As expected and advertised.

I really wanted to love this product. I was excited when I ordered it and when it arrived, I really wanted all of my pet's food/water needs contained in one system. However, when I used the travel mess kit while traveling the poor design made it a pain to use. The water canteen fill hole and closure lid is centered on the top, making it impossible to get all of the water out of the canteen and very difficult to pour without making a mess. The threading on the food/water dishes leaves much to be desired as they do not easily screw together making connecting and disconnection each of the components very hard. Each time I got it out, it turned into a two-person operation as my husband and I wrestled with it. Half way through our trip I gave up on using it and just put food and water in tupperware containers and treats in a ziplock bag to save myself the headache and difficulty of using the horribly designed mess kit.

the container is a good size to hold a few days food for my dog but the water bottle that comes with it is kind of junk. Once the bottle is filled it is difficult to empty completely and doesn't hold much water. I do like that the top unscrews to form two bowls.

I purchased these for use on day hikes plus for emergency evacuations etc.... The food container is a nice size, but the water containers are too small (Hold 12 ounces) for practical use if you have large dogs. Yes, I have other ways to supplement the water supply, but that defeats the purpose in purchasing these.
