I needed these for this guy and they work well!
Let me start by saying I picked these due to the cost (or lack thereof) as they seemed strong and have a hole on the back to get roll pins started. Did I mention they are inexpensive? These did a good job on my upper and I used them to get the gas block pin and forward assist in. They worked for both and didn't bend, irritate me or get in the way (I'd hope not or the rating would've been a total opposite). If you need some inexpensive roll pin punches to get you by for an inexpensive build, these are great! I'd buy a brass set if I used these more or for a business but these are priced to a point and work well. Awesome value

Hollow Starter Punches Work Great
To start a pin use these. They have a hollow tip that is hollow for a short depth that is not too shallow nor too deep. The depth is just right to guide the pin you are trying to start into its hole. Once the pin is started you can use a regular blunt tip punch to continue to drive the pin in till flush. Great addition to my punches.

Bought by accident. But found uses
To be honest, i bought this size by mistake, but their not exspensive so i wasn't going to return them and i have had a few uses for these smaller sizes come up. They seem to be nice and strong aswell. For an accident it was a good one lol

First time builder
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to others. They do the job but they don't fit the pins very well. Lots of slop. Appear sturdy made. Overall, a good item.

Excellent tools at a great low price!
These punches made by SquirrelDaddy are equally as appealing and well made as their 3/32" Glock disassembly tool. They are aesthetically pleasing to the eye; shiny but not overly polished. The knurling is excellent and covers a significant amount of surface area allowing for a generous grip on the tool. They all showed up clean with none of the smelly oils that often show up on metal objects when drop shipped to my house. There are no sharp edges on either end of each punch and the inner surface of the hollow ends is rounded smooth.Overall the hollow end punch set sold by Red Iron Tactical and made by SquirrelDaddy.com is a very well made set of compact gunsmithing tools at a great low price.

Nice finish
Nicely finished roll pin starters. They are 2.75 inches long, and have fairly deep sockets to hold the roll pins. If you are trying to use these to drive the gas tube retention roll pin on an ar15, you will have to put a spacer in the socket of the punch. It is too deep and will completely swallow the roll pin, and you will need something like a dental pick to get it removed. I suppose you could grind down the socket end of that particular punch to make it work.

As a FFL and “cerakote” applicator I use these daily!
First and foremost for those of you who are saying they are drilled too deep in a way you’re right, but you’re wrong too. Having larger depth for holding a roll pin is essential for them staying in place and not wiggling all around while you’re starting them.We have quite a few sets of them in the shop, and keep spares in the drawers. With ours we have taken each pair of them, sand blasted them and painted them red and neon greenOn set 1 we left it as they are depth wise (neon green)On set 2 we ground down the end so that the roll punches are 1/4 of their designed depth, this way we can use them in smaller roll pins. (Red)Seriously at 10 bucks a set / 2.50 ea punch just buy 2 and sand one back to a much shorter length. We have beat the ever loving snot out of these punches for years and have yet to have any fail on us. This is 10 bucks well spent

Punch starter hole too tight
They are decent punches however the one that is supposed to start the roll pins in an M4 is slightly too small and the roll pin got stuck in it. I almost had to ruin the pin to get it out but as I was doing a build and didn't have a spare pin, I had to take the time to unstuck it carefully. And since that punch was the whole reason for my order, it was a let down.
