got this chiller for our axolotl six months ago and it's been working great! it is quiet when it runs, although now there's a little bit of a clunking noise when it shuts off- only sometimes though and i suspect it might be from overworking this summer during the heat wave. it has been able to chill a 20 gal tank at least 15 degrees (haven't tried lower than that) and is really easy to program. for the price i am very happy with it!

Amazing. This item not only keeps my temperatures at a low 64 degrees Fahrenheit, but it can even go lower than advertised. This is all without saying how amazing these guys’ support team were. They not only shipped pieces that were missing in my initial order, but they even refunded a portion of the original price. An absolute wonderful team who were communicative, thorough, helpful all around, so I recommend them greatly, and look forward to future purchases.

The chiller is working well for me, now that I was able to talk to the company and figure things out. The manual that comes with it is worthless. I suggested they update that, and they are going to be doing some working on it to try and make it better. The main thing with this is that it comes preset with a five degree temp swing. So if you set it to 60°, it will start cooling at 65°. But check your tank temperature with a different thermometer and do the degrees according to how much it is off. Mine the chiller is two degrees off of my tank, so I set the chiller two degrees lower than I actually want so it's the correct temp. In order to change the temperature swing hold down the set key until F1 shows. Push the set key once more. The number five will show. Use the arrows to adjust to how many degrees you want it to kick in at. None of that is in the instructions. There is also an F2 setting that you are supposed to be able to adjust the temp gauge of the chiller to match your aquarium if it's off like mine,but I only managed to get F2 to flash once holding the set key and haven't been able to get back into it so I just know how many degrees off it is and go by that. Overall for the price it's not bad as long as you know the quirks. And find videos on setting up a chiller, the instructions included are worthless. The whole manual is very Chinese English. I will update later if it doesn't last for whatever reason. Company is very helpful in trying to help you though and gave me some money back for all the trouble it's been figuring this out.

January 18, 2026 Just purchased it and it seems to be working just fine. I love that. It has a way to have a temperature range to turn on the compressor to start the cooling process. I will continue updating over the next few months and years as necessary. Before putting it together, I used both rubber, gaskets one on top and underneath the water outlet connection in addition to using plumbers tape. It’s best not to over tighten being a plastic nut and bolt thread instead have a better seal by using the tape. ********* Update: 3/21/26 Forgot to mention previously that this chiller is attached to a 125 gallon aquarium even though it’s rated for 79 gallons. It works absolutely amazing. Still no leaks, and a consistent temperature remains at wherever I set it. I am pretty sure it could also handle a 150 with no issues. My axolotl and cold water fish are more than happy in this set up. Still very happy with my purchase. I just added shutoff valves to this chiller in addition to making the return look nice with other Amazon items. ***********

Well, I've had this chiller less than 3 months. It appears there is a short where the plug plugs into the chiller. if you wiggle it, it shuts It off. Just the vibration from running the chiller keeps shutting it off. As of now I've given this one star. Although I will say, I live in Arizona and it seems to keep the temperature around 47° in my garage even when it's warm out. When it worked, which wasn't very long. It's basically useless at this point. I have reached out to the seller and I will update.

This was a big investment for us, but I decided to purchase a chiller because we really struggled to maintain our tank temp last summer. (We have axolotls and they like to live at temps lower than 70 degrees.) We've had the chiller for about a month and it really does keep the tank cool. The setup was very easy, although we did purchase some clamps to make sure the hoses can't slip out of the tank. (The supplied hose length was enough to meet our needs, but stuff happens and I don't want a flood in my living room!) Programming took a few minutes, because I had to wrap my head around the instructions, but it wasn't too bad. I like that there is a calibration feature to make sure that chiller and tank temp are *really* the same. I also like that the powerhead and cooling unit are independent, since I know we will eventually blow out the powerhead! We have had 2 instances where the chiller has randomly made a lot of beeps and stopped cooling the water. It was easy to reset the machine and it didn't lose the specs that I programmed, but I definitely do double check the tank temp every time I walk by it so I know as soon as possible if something is wrong!

I've been using this with my ice plunge tub and it works great. I did buy seperate fittings, pipes and things but the actual unit is pretty solid and quiet. I do think you should buy a GFCI extension cord if you use this for safety though. But no real complaints, gets it down to 40 degrees easily with an ambient temperature of 80, we'll see how it does it in the summer.
