Travelon Anti-Theft Active Medium Crossbody Bag

I have been using Travelon Crossbody bags for years. When I saw this dark TEAL (my fav color!) crossbody bag, I just had to order it. These bags are versatile and I appreciate the extra security they provide. (1) Straps long enough and wide enough to wear the bag for a full day of shopping or sightseeing. (2) Secure buckles which prevent pickpockets from unzipping two of exterior zippers. (3) The interior RFID zippered compartment for keeping credit cards and ID safe from scanners/scammers/scimmers & crooks. My black bags have been to England, Denmark, Alaska, British Columbia, and all over the USA. Thank you for the only purse/handbag I really, really use!

After searching for a reasonably priced option in a color other than black—with fewer zippers, full functionality, and a medium size that is easy to carry—this one truly delivers. The first one I received was the old model, with a trim above the zipper that's prone to peeling. I returned that and they sent the newer version with the trim removed, which is an awesome bag. Plenty of room, sturdy strap, etc. Only small issue is that the zipper on the outer netted pouch is difficult to zip up without it catching.

After using this purse for 2 months, it is well designed. It is well made with enough pockets and room for everything I carry, especially when I travel. My only issue is with the "chips' above the zipper. They appeared within a few weeks of use and make the purse look much older. I would have like to rate it at 4 1/2 stars.

This bag worked perfectly as a day pack for my 2-week trip to Eastern Europe. It fit my SLR camera, wallet, light snacks, a small toiletry kit, my phone and a water bottle, all with some room left for small souvenirs. The thick strap was comfy on my shoulders and I loved all the pockets. Great security features and very durable. I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling and will be out on the town all day. This is my new go-to.

I love this bag. It's my second Travelon bag and I only replaced the first because I needed a bigger bag. This is light weight even when filled with my wallet, a paperback book, cell phone, checkbook, etc. The color is accurate as shown, with the adjustable strap I can make it a cross body bag, and I have lots of security knowing I can lock the zippers.

I bought this in July 2024 for a trip in August 2024 where I knew I'd need to carry passports and my son's water bottle. It held up well for that trip, and the strap was long enough for my plus-size body. The inside is big enough to carry an iPad mini and a sizeable hardcover book, plus a water bottle (inside). The pockets are great. So why just 3 stars? I put my bags through a LOT, and I didn't think that after 7 months of daily use that the black decoration around the pocket zipper should be FLAKING off, leaving little white spots. I was going to take this bag to Disney, but now I'm thinking I'll take something else (or I'll take it and ditch it afterwards). Also the strap is fraying a bit where it connects to the bag.

After trying several models of Travelon purses (only brand I use), the third time was a charm. I love this bag - roomy enough for everything I need to carry and some to spare. The previous bags were just too small, with not enough storage spaces/organization, so I was reduced to bare minimum and couldn't even save receipts in my purse. This bag has lots of room for wallet, keys, cellphone (I keep mine in the HUGE zippered pocket on the back, so I know when it vibrates in a loud public place), cards, nail clippers, etc. There's even room for my Kindle Fire 8, in its case! The strap is long enough to use crossbody or can be shortened to hang on one shoulder, and the materials and workmanship are on par with Travelon's other bags. I really love the locking zippers! It's why I won't use any other bag. I like being able to shift the bag around to the back and not worry that someone might reach inside. Also really appreciate that it STANDS UP. I need to be able to stand the purse on the counter to get out my wallet, etc. My previous Travelon purse was a bucket/hobo type that flopped over, and it got so aggravating I had to look for another style. Really love that it lays flat against the body and doesn't stick out like a lot of bags - very important when maneuvering through narrow, overstocked store aisles where the purse could knock things over. Only real drawback is the size zipper compartment for the "water bottle" is just way too small to use for any water bottles I know of, so I use that space for my sunglasses instead. I would've liked the interior compartments reversed, i.e. on the opposite side than where they are, since that's the arrangement in virtually all other Travelon bags I've looked at, but it's a minor point I'm trying to get used to. Overall, I LOVE this bag! I'm so glad I got it. One thing I learned: Pay attention to the dimensions, or you could end up with a smaller/larger bag than you intended. This one's just perfect for me. EDIT: As another reviewer noted, the black trim starts to peel off quickly, making the bag look shabby fast. If only Travelon has used even a slightly better quality material, this could have been avoided. As it is, the bag starts to look like a secondhand thrift shop item pretty quickly. I’ve tried using black marker to cover it up, but it’s still very tacky looking and cheapens the bag.

Good quality bag and as described. Can't wait to use for my next trip. Almost got robbed in Europe once. Hope this anti-theft bag would be useful for future trips.

I already had a messenger bag that I'd been using for everyday. But I just returned from almost 1 full week in Montreal, and I wanted a RFID (Radio Frequency Interrupter Device--at least I think that's what the abbreviation stands for!) bag for my trip there. I have another Travelon bag already, so I knew the quality would be good. This bag is the perfect size. I got it in the "Charcoal" colour. There's an external side area that's meant to hold a slim water bottle. Ideally, that section would hold a 500 mL bottle of water or a very slim 750 mL water bottle. I have a travel-sized umbrella there. Inside, the bag has a small flashlight attached to a column of the bag's fabric. So you can use the flashlight to shine light into the depths of the bag! There's plenty of storage space and 3 zipped sections: 1 inside, and 2 on either side of the bag externally. What sets this bag apart from many of its competitors are all of the safety features. The fabric is a very tough, water-resistant, ripstop fabric that is "cut-proof." That's not such a "thing" in North America, yet in Europe it's common for thieves to have Xacto knives to try to cut into a woman's handbag. Except for 1 zipper, the zipper "pulls" [those little tabs at the end of a zipper] can attach--like a carabiner--to the side of the bag's strap. This is hard to describe, yet I think Travelon has a little video that shows this. This is why Travelon bags are a little more pricey. It's worth the cost for peace of mind! As for the colour, my first choice in this style of bag was the burgundy, actually. Unfortunately the burgundy was out of stock when I bought it. In the end, I'm grateful I bought the charcoal. It's a "medium" shade of grey--not too light & not too dark! So this colour goes with everything, just like the black or navy shades, and yet it's a lot sleeker looking than my previous messenger bag! I highly recommend this bag. It exceeded my expectations.

I came across this brand by chance, in a YT review for long time traveller. Hence searched for Travelon Anti theft cross body bag. During search I found this design and color, love it. The actual bag is great material, smooth wide strap, adjustable, and has many practical outside and inside pockets, which I love. One can be really well organized and have all items safe, thanks to the zipper locks. I love this particular color. However as I am rather tiny and small person, the bag is very big and huge on me, although I could fit all inside. Plus a bit pricy for the bag, in comparison to other brands or their own other designs, even in similar sizes. But a great bag if you are a tall lady and love Olive green. ITS a must have for you travel or city life. Note: sadly the material itself is a little thick, which makes it heavy, and the interior color is black, so inside is hard to see. although it has a mini torch. ;-) Not sure why the bag sling has a hook on one side and stitched on the other. I guess a design feature.

Perfect for my needs and love the colour. I have a travel cross body bag which I use at home so got this one for everyday use with the added bonus of using it for travel if required.
