Is this a powder or not? Unsure because it says "whole psyllium husks"

It doesn't seem like a powder to me.  The psyllium husks are perhaps crushed up and easily mix with juice or water to drink.  It's similar to what I've always used.  Good product!

Question 2

Any advice on getting past the texture? I had a hard time drinking "chunky" water and in coffee it turns to sludge.

I can't stand chunky drinks either. Lol. I actually have a coffee grinder just for this reason. When I'm in a hurry, I mix it in with my Protein shake right before I drink it ( it gets thick fast) but make sure to drink a glass of water afterwards. I like the idea of adding it to oatmeal right before you eat it also. I also use in baking protein muffins, etc. Good luck!

Are whole husks better than the now psyllium powder? what’s the expiration?

Due to diverticulosis ( which has killed two of my older relatives) I have been taking whole psyllium husks daily for several decades now. I once bought psyllium powder not understanding the difference between the two. The powder was much finer and hardened very quickly and I wasn't confident it was really helping. You might try the powder for yourself but please don't buy a 10 lb bag of powder unless you decide that you like it. My choice will always be husks which are more expensive but NOW's 10 pound bag offers a large saving compared to individual 12 oz jars at the local health food stores. I don't recall ever seeing an expiration date on psyllium. The only thing that I can imagine happening is excess moisture absorption. I live in the Pacific Northwest and by storing it in jars or the original foil bag it seems to stay fresh indefinitely. Good Luck- Larry

does anyone know if this product has lead? I know that viva natural and yerba prime does.
