Great tool for natural disasters!
Living in earthquake country in California, I felt it was important to have the proper tools turn off water and gas. Previously I just had cheap wrenches outside to do this, but over time they'd rust and only served one purpose. I wanted my house to be disaster ready and having a multi-tool like this not only saves space but it also serves different functions such as turning off gas, water, opening doors and even digging. The best part is that it doesn't spark which is important, specially if there is a gas leak. Once it arrived, I was really pleased with the build quality and that it was made in the USA. It truly allows you to be more prepared when disasters occur. ***Pros - Inexpensive - Great build quality! - Lightweight - About the size of a hammer - Doesn't Spark - Made in USA - Easy instructions on packaging - Multi-tool - Doesn't rust - Easy to use ***Cons - Currently I have no cons with this product.

A Must Have
Bought this for son for his first home. He thought it was one of those "never gonna use" tools that would sit in the toolbox. After several months, he called me last week to tell me that he indeed had to use it on his water shut-off in order to repair his washer and to thank me for the tool. It was easy to use, strong, fit and worked perfectly.

Useful tool but pack a large screwdriver for leverage.
I purchased this because it is a recommended tool for CERT team members. It is well made, light weight, and sturdy but the finish and flashing around the mold lines was somewhat rough. A few minutes with a file and some sandpaper fix the imperfections and improved the feel in my hands. It works well to open and close gas line valves but a stubborn water line valve would be tough to turn with out additional leverage. Even after opening and closing our water valve with a much larger tool, I needed a large screw driver inserted in the slot for the gas valve to turn the valve. It is barely long enough to reach down into the box that contains the valve and meter. Still for the size this tool could prove useful. I gave it four stars for the ability to turn gas valves and it use as a pry bar and glass breaker. I would rate its ability as a water valve tool at two stars.

useful tool
I've not had occasion to use it, but it's a substantial tool that fits both my gas and my water shut-off valves. I hang it on the door closest to the water shutoff. I tested it's fit for both and shut off the water to test it. I didn't test it on the gas valve since that might break the safety that's built in [don't ask how I know that]. It made turning off the water very easy and I assume it would be the same for the gas. Heavy enough to do the job, light enough to handle well.

Great safety device for my gas meter.
I almost have an all natural gas home, and wanted a simple way of turning the gas off, at the meter. This is the first place you are suppose to turn off the natural gas, in a gas leak situation. The 45 degree rectangle hole, by the hammer head, works perfectly for my gas meter. I have an American Meter Company AC-250 gas meter. I am writing this review because of all confusion I had about these types of device and the question will they or will they not work with my gas meter. I can tell you, it will work fine if you have a meter/gas cutoff similar to mine. I attached a photo. The hole is a little large, for the cutoff, but it works fine. I also recommend tying it to the gas line, so it doesn't walk away. But leave enough slack to it can be used. This is to keep you from using it elsewhere, and not necessarily to keep it from being stolen.

Great tool for disaster preparedness.
I am a member of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the fire district that trains us put one in each of the backpacks they gave us. They are a great all-in-one purpose tool for shutting off utilities in an emergency or using to access entrance in event of a disaster. It is light weight, but very sturdy. My son wanted me to put together a disaster kit for him, and this is one of the first things I thought of.

Bit rough.
Hope I never have to use it but good to have just in case. Seams of the mold were present and they were a bit sharp. Went around the whole tool with a file to grind them down. Lightweight and seems reliable.
