A Motivational Push in the Right Direction
I really enjoyed this book. It actually started off as a bit of a joke—I had a book about discipline sitting there that I kept putting off reading. But once I finally picked it up, I got into it pretty quickly. A lot of the ideas felt familiar, like things I already knew deep down but hadn’t really put into words or consistently acted on. The book does a great job of bringing those thoughts to the surface and framing them in a way that’s easier to understand and apply. It helped me shift my mindset and focus more on building for the future instead of just reacting in the moment.

worth it if you’re serious about building better habits and holding yourself accountable.
This is a practical, no-fluff read that delivers exactly what the title promises. The Power of Discipline focuses on building self-control, mental toughness, and consistency — and it does so in a clear, straightforward way. I appreciated how actionable the advice was. The book breaks down why motivation isn’t enough and offers simple strategies to build discipline through habits, environment design, and discomfort tolerance. It’s easy to follow and doesn’t overcomplicate the psychology. That said, some of the concepts will feel familiar if you’ve read other personal development books. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a solid refresher and a good push if you’re struggling with procrastination or staying consistent. Overall, a strong and practical read — worth it if you’re serious about building better habits and holding yourself accountable.

Common sense writing to help you overcome procrastinisation and action your goals.
This is an amazing book! so simple and articulately written. It's my go-to-book that I read every 6 months and the one book I will always have by my side. Daniel Walter conveys out so concisely what you need to action to create a habitat of regular discipline. I went through a phase in my life recently where I was procrastinating a lot and not actually actioning anything. Discipline is a habit you have to learn and this book has helped me so much in my personal life, fitness/diet schedule which is important as I'm a type 1 diabetic and also with my job as a Graphic Designer. If I had children I would but them this book as a life guide. When I do get periods when I'm down or cannot action goals I always use this book as a refresher. Daniel thank you for writing such a common sense book in a frantic, busy world we live in today. There is a fantastic quote by tennis player Roger Federer. "Discipline is a Talent" he is so correct and made him one of the best tennis players of all time. Highly, highly recommend this book, it's worth every penny. Thank you, Andrew Stanford High Wycombe UK 5 stars.
