Important addition to circuit for 2024 trailer brake controllers
Lots of discussion on the internet about connecting third party trailer brake controllers to the new Ford Ranger base model when the factory brake controller is not ordered but the towing pkg with hitch and wiring is. You do NOT want to take any chance of the aftermarket trailer brake controller feeding any current at all back into the complex vehicle wiring related to automatic emergency braking systems: hence the one-way diode. There may be less expensive diodes that will do the job but this product is well known in the industry.
