mostly, this is used for grinding metals. To cut 3/8" wood, you need a saw not a grinder. Thanks

I think it you used it with a variable speed grinder at the slowest speed it would work for cleaning up the edges. For glass I just use a random orbital electric sander with 100 grit, since glaze is essentially glass, I would use caution on a rough grit.
