The kit worked well. I used the non-absorbent litter in his small litter box.

My cat resisted giving a urine sample for almost a week with the beads my vet gave me (and even at the vet!) and I ended up just buying 3 packs of this stuff. I have multiple cats so I have to close the one cat in a small space, which she doesn't like, so I tried to stage it a bit. I needed the sample for Monday morning, so Saturday morning, I moved some litter from her favorite box into another box so that her favorite box had about as small an amount of litter as I thought she'd tolerate/use, and mixed 1 pack of this stuff in with that. Then on Sunday evening, I removed the litter, cleaned the box out, put the other 2 packs in, and stuck her in a room with that and some food/water. She still held out until 1:30am, but I ended up with a great sample and will wash and reuse this litter. Overall I'd say it worked great. I think both the pipette and litter worked better than what the vet gave me earlier. It seems expensive for what it is, but it's a pretty specialized product, and reusable, so I don't think it's a bad value. It would be nice if (1) they made it MUCH clearer that one pack will not fill the bottom of a regular-sized litter box and (2) they sold a "value pack" of 3 at a discount, or even more for people whose cats have chronic issues.

Picked up a small dish pan at $tree 1.50. While cat ate breakfast, I poured the litter in dish pan and replaced the regular litter pan. Cat peed right in it, no problem. Used the provided collection dropper to add urine to collection container and voilà, urine sample. I had to get creative to clean the collection litter, I didn’t want to use my kitchen strainer, and the beads are so small. I ran water in the pan and put a piece of cheese cloth over the end as I dumped out the water. I completed that process a couple of times until the litter appeared clean. I sat the pan containing the litter on my screened in porch to dry. Be sure to ask your veterinarian to give you back the collection dropper and vile to use again.

Easy to use but my precious kitty passed before she got to pee in it and I don't think she would have peed in it because cats are habitual and don't like change, but her were going to try it.

Cat urinated in these granules & they dissolved to a pile of MUSH! Was not able to extract one drop of urine! Find another product & don’t waste your money on this!
