How do i open the aaa battery holder?

Unscrew the top of the flashlight and there will be a space to place your batteries, once batteries are in screw the top back to secure batteries.

Does this flashlight work with 2 x cr123a batteries? there are others like this that say they work with 3xaaa, 18650 rechargeable and 2xcr123a.

the one that I have uses 3 AAA batteries. There is the option for the single larger battery

Does the lepro pr120028 le2050 high lumens handheld flashlight take a 18650 button top or the 18650 flat top battery?

Either battery will work fine. The positive end of the battery mates with a spring connector inside the flashlight. The spring will make contact with the top of the battery no matter if it's button or flat.

Does this stand up on its own?

Yes. You can stand it up on either the big end or small end. I have mine standing on my desk.

Lightweight strong beam flashlight

Purchased a two pack of compact flashlights that use the rechargeable batteries I already have (because 18650) The price was good and they have a strong beam. Have NOT tested if they are waterproof.
