Do you mix this with water?

This is a powder and you have to mix it with water. It requires a very small amount of powder (teaspoons) to clean a room, so this container is much more than you will need if you are just using it to clean your home. There is plenty to share!

can you use this for car seats and carpet as well?

Yes you can. But always test a small spot. I used in my car and worked well.
