What are the dimensions and can be safely used in a 5' x 1' wading pool?

This would be overkill for a wading pool. Takes 6 3" tablets to fill. Pretty potent and does better by floating about large surface area. I wouldn't use it for that.

If I was to buy a small pool, would this thing with chlorine tablets keep the pull clean and prevent that green stuff from forming?

It is a small floater. It is too small for my 13500 gallon pool but just right for my 350 gallon spa. As others wrote, you need a water filter too. Chlorine tablets contain stabilizer (aka cyanuric acid (CYA)) which builds up in the water over time. If you do not drain the pool in the winter then you should measure the CYA periodically to make sure it is under 100 ppm. 25ppm to 50ppm is an ideal range. It keeps the sun from burning off your chlorine too quickly. Alternatively, use bleach as your sanitizer. A great web site to manage water quality is poolcalculator.com

How many tablets should I put in for a pool that I just filled up (approx. 1,100 gallons)? At what rate? Do you leave this in when you are in the pool

One, 3" tablet at a time and you leave the float in at all times. You can adjust the float for amount of release of chlorine. You must check the cheistry of your pool to make sure the chlorine and ph, and total chlorineare correct. If too much, you can take the float out until the chlorine level comes back to proper level.

Cute little chlorine dispenser

This works for the small pool I bought. Seems well made to hold the one inch chlorine tablets. Just what I needed. Good price and does the job. Floats nicely, no problem keeping lid locked.

Great product for a very small amount of money

This works really well for my hot tub. I have no problems with it it came quickly and was exactly as I thought it would be. It’s good for it’s money because it was very in expensive. It feels up well and I have had no problems.
