desertcart.com: Blade Breaker (Realm Breaker, 2): 9780062872661: Aveyard, Victoria: Books Review: Great read! - Great read! Review: I'm crying. - This entire book was fast-paced and action-packed. There was so much death and destruction, mostly caused by Erida, Taristan, and his pet rat, aka the wizard. It was hard to stomach and harder to understand how people can be so heartless just to gain power and control. Meanwhile, Corayne and her companions seem to always be traveling, trying to save the Ward. They take one step forward just to take two steps back. It's frustrating. Why is it that the bad guys ate always ten steps ahead of the good guys in stories and movies? It seems the good guys are always reacting instead of going on the offense. Without giving away any spoilers, I am very curious about the mysterious new character who appeared twice in this book. After my heart stops pounding, I'll start the next book.

Epic Fantasy!
In the second book in the Realm Breaker series, Corayne and her unlikely companions struggle to continue the fight for the survival of Allward. They may have closed one Spindle, but her uncle is still opening Spindles to other realms and releasing the evil they contain into Allward. Dragons and monsters pour through the open Spindles as Corayne races to find and close them, and her uncle's new armies conquer nation after nation. I adore all of Victoria Aveyard's books, but this one may be my favorite! It was an incredible story! The plot was so intricate, with the story told from so many perspectives throughout the realm, but it was never overwhelming or confusing! I also loved the continued character development! After the harrowing events of the first book, the seven companions are now more entwined than ever and are finally trusting each other. The banter between the characters is incredible, even in the tense moments, and romances are budding between many of the companions. Also, the villains are so well written, I almost want them to succeed! Once again, the female characters control the plot line in this series! As one of the main characters pointed out, "So much of the world rests on the shoulders of two young women, with men squawking at our edges." It is so rare to have both good and evil strong female characters in epic fantasy novels, and it makes me so happy! But the end of this book completely destroyed me. Victoria Aveyard is the queen of cliffhangers and shattering your emotions in the last few pages of the book, and this one is no exception. I should have been prepared for the ending, but I wasn't, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Will good or evil prevail?
17yo Corayne and her mismatched crew are reeling from the battle to close the Spindle as they observe dead Galland soldiers and sea serpents surrounding them. As they move on, forty Ibal soldiers approach and tell the crew they have orders from their king to take Corayne to him, and the crew travels along because they’re staying together. The group has no idea what to expect when they meet the Ibal king. Erida continues to take kingdoms by force with the help of Prince Taristan and wizard Ronin, both of whom are occupied by the demon What Waits, and when she kills a fifteen year old princess, she gains another kingdom. A new Spindle is found and when Corayne reaches it to close it, she discovers a trap. Will evil or good conquer the realm? Likes/dislikes: I love the world building and the character development. I enjoyed the intensity of the conflicts. I appreciate how this book and series feel like an epic fantasy. Language: R for 10 swears and 2 f-words. Mature content: PG-13 for passionate kissing; implied sex, no details Violence: R for bloody deaths Ethnicity: Andry has brown skin. Sorasa has bronze skin. Charlie is pale skinned. Sigil has copper skin. Bronze skinned soldiers. Pale skinned wizard. Corayne has golden skin. Valtik the witch is white. Olive toned, bronze skinned and fair skinned raiders. Black skinned immortal. Prince Oscovko is white.

This series is okay but definitely took me longer to finish, kinda boring, but different. Not as exciting as her Red Queen series.

The Companions’ Quest
This is an edge-of-your-seat story, as the Companions seek to stop the evil overwhelming the Ward. Who survives and who does not?

Awesome Aveyard!
Great progression to the 3rd book! I cannot wait to continue! The first one was excellent and the second one is right on pace. So much action has happened thus far I cannot fathom what the end battle is going to look like!

Não sei o que anda a acontecer. A razão pela qual livros novos chegam danificados aos compradores. É uma pena. Contudo o livro em si é exatamente o que esperado, apenas o tratamento do mesmo é que me faz dar uma avaliação mais baixa.
