3.5 years of use review
3.5 years later:I definitely recommend this bag. It's well-made, roomy (despite being a carry on), and fairly light. I used it regularly for 3.5 years, including overpacking it and the fabric/zippers were sturdy. After those 3.5 years, one of the wheels degraded a bit and was hard to roll. The bag was still under the original Swissgear warranty, and the process to replace my bag was very easy. I had a replacement bag in hand within 5 days of my warranty claim. I'd definitely purchase this (and other Swissgear products) again. I also really love the color!

Totally Worth The Money - Great, Reliable Suitcase
Absolutely love this suitcase - it's affordable but well built, can take damage and be fine, and has lots of pockets/openings to really pack in whatever you might want on a trip. It's also great because the wheels allow for side rolling which not all suitcases do.

Great travel bag
This is a great suitcase for a long weekend get away. I even had room left without using the expansion zipper! The wheels are smooth and didn’t get caught up when turning corners or boarding escalators. I hooked my backpack on the handle, no concern about durability.

Spacious and Good for a Few Trips per year
The size is great and holds more than your average 22' suitcase, which is why we bought it. Our family flies 4-5x per year, with usually one international trip. We try to travel with only carry-ons so this is perfect for that. However, the wheels have not held up over time. After about the tenth use, the wheels started wobbling. This still rolls great if you roll it upright but if you have to sprint through an airport and "tilt and roll", it is useless. Summary: this is great if you take 1-2 trips a year and want to rely on a carry-on. If you are a heavy-duty traveler, purchase the warranty.

Great carry on suitcase, great deal!
After searching Amazon & Macy’s apps for 2 weeks looking for a carry on for my son, I checked out countless hard side & soft side options & poured over reviews. I finally settled on this soft sided carry on. Amazon buyers had posted some useful videos & the reviews for this bag were consistently awesome. I wanted something with good quality spinner wheels & a telescoping handle that was sturdy. The bag needed to be affordable and have nice features inside & out. This carry on checked all of those boxes! Very impressed with the look & quality of this bag, both inside & out. Smooth zips with high quality zipper pulls, 2 handy & spacious exterior pockets for easy access to travel essentials (this is why I chose soft side over hard side!) a separate expansion zipper for more packing space for clothing, and I love that it has sturdy handles on three sides to easily grab this bag from any angle. One side has nice “feet” if you want to set the bag down horizontally. The telescoping handle works smoothly and locks into place. There’s two different height choices for this handle. One feature it has that nobody mentioned is that the zippers have little holes you can align and you can then use your own suitcase padlock on the bag if needed. The interior is spacious, nicely lined and there’s an attached mesh zipper pocket on one of the long sides, and also a detachable zip bag they call a wet bag, so stuff your wet swimsuit inside if need be or use it for cosmetics or whatever. Not sure if it’s TSA friendly because it’s clear, but not exactly see through. The spinner wheels glide as smooth as silk across my wood floors here at home & it has excellent maneuverability. A nice dark blue, soft materiel. It’s a great looking bag! I got a really outstanding deal on this when I checked out the list of these bags available at a lower price, shipped from the Amazon warehouse. I chose an option that stated it would be “Used, in like new condition” that was listed $30 cheaper than new. It came in pristine packaging, no damage whatsoever to the box that held the suitcase and still taped up with “Swiss Gear” packaging tape. The suitcase & handles were still wrapped in plastic, tags were intact, and all of the pockets on the suitcase still were stuffed with the packaging tissue paper! This was an awesome score for under $100 and I’m sure this thing will last a very long time! Look no further, this is the perfect carry on bag. I’m sure Swiss Gear’s matching larger size bags are just as awesome, too.

Decent size Carry-On
After usage, here's a long, detailed review for this small-ish carry-on.This luggage was purchased in 2022, but didn't have an opportunity to use it until 2024. The suitcase was put through a lot more heavy duty use for an international trip in 2026.This size is perfect for long weekend trips. Or if you really know how to pack, and minimize for travel, this can suffice for potential extended periods of 2 weeks, a month, etc.I'm not a packing minimalist. Over time and with each trip, I've become better about streamlining, bringing what I need along with some of the wants. Between this luggage and a personal bag, I for sure got 3-4 days worth of toiletries, clothes, electronics, etc. The suitcase, minus electronics for the plane, I think could handle 4 days. Maybe even 7 days, with laundering. Adding souveniers, depending the dimensions, could push the limits. Winter travel may reduce how many days worth could fit. I think with layering winter outfits, the same amount of days could apply. The opening of the luggage has a little bit of a lip at the bottom by the wheels. Unlike the top and sides of the suitcase, you can't directely place items inside without tipping it at a slight angle, then inserting. I think this probably makes a difference when trying to stuff as much as you can inside the suitcase. The lip somehow prevents making it easier to cram if it's completely packed to capacity.I attempted to do carry on only, but due to the itinerary, it was easier to check the bag. Plus, this size is just an inch or two over most strict international dimensions. It's fine for most domestic US airlines, though it seems even domestic airlines are cracking down on carry-on guidelines with weight and sizing. You may be able to get away with putting this carry-on in an overhead bin, but I don't like the stress of wondering which agent and which airline may or may not allow it on the plane, or having to gate check. As for wear and tear, this suitcase was fine on cobblestone, but admittedly by the time I got to the cobblestone portion of the trip, it got old transporting luggage. This was after handling the weight of a personal bag and the contents of the carry-on through several legs of trains, planes, automobiles, airport terminals, and hours of day long walking through them all. From all the lifting through stairs, escalators, gaps of elevators, pushing through cobblestones, the only thing I would eventually question is the sturdiness of the telescoping handle. It got a little twisty pushing it through some places, maneuvering cobblestone. All four wheels having independent movement helps, but often doesn't matter with those old world surfaces. But it held up. Aside from the handle, the rest of the luggage is incredibly reliable. I prefer softside luggage for the reliability in baggage handling. No worries on cracking, scuffs or scratches. The luggage expansion came in handy with additional souvenirs. It was quite welcome while repacking. Providing just enough extra room to accomodate. The dimensions and the weight are pretty accurate. The weight is just slightly under 8lbs.Handles on three sides (top, bottom, one side) was also a huge help, especially on trains. Made lifting it up to a luggage rack with height a lot easier. The top handle slides out a little to provide additional give. The other two handles are standard and just as sturdy. The zippers are all a nice thickness, or wide, sturdy and smooth. They are not flimsy, and you don't have to worry about them easily breaking. For longer work trips, work/leisure trips with extreme climates, very involved itineraries, or work trips involving a lot of supplies/gear, I would definitely size up to standard checked luggage or larger.Overall, this a great carry-on suitcase for short trips, work or vacation. It's small enough that lifting it, even fully packed, won't be too much of a strain. It easily moves on flat surfaces of terminals, can handle cobblestones in international spaces, and can withstand rough handling.

5 (maybe 4.5) Stars for now, will report back after a few more trips.
You can't say but so much about luggage until it's been on the road and roughly handled at the airport plenty of times. That said, this bag rolled a couple of miles over cobblestones, got jostled on trains and planes, and was otherwise put through its paces on a recent European vacation. What I can say is that if you like soft-sided bags, this one is worth considering. The material feels rugged, the zippers work well and seem to be a proper gauge (I'll always take heavier ones, but these are fine). The extensible handle is about as sturdy as most - - which is not saying a lot. The two sewn handles are confidence inspiring. My last bag had the same general design and capacity but did not have swivel coasters. This bag does. They don't necessarily look as resilient as i might wish, but on the other hand, they withstood a pretty good pounding on my most recent trip. I'm inclined to try to find a spare roller to keep in the bag. I like the fact that it's properly balanced so that it doesn't fall over when it's fully packed. My last roller bag would do that, and it was a real pain. This one stands nicely and will roll away on a slope if you're not vigilant. This bag is attractive in the burgundy color, and it fits without any problems into a full-size airplane or train overhead compartment. I travel fairly frequently, so if any shortcomings arise, I'll update my review. For now, though, the value seems solid for someone who refuses to spend over $250 for a bag of this size.

Poor wheel quality
Quality item except for the wheels. The rubber on the wheels, the part that rolls in the floor, is falling apart after only 5 uses. I've always wiped the entire suitcase down after each trip and am careful with it when traveling. The body/ fabric part looks great still. Will contact Swissgear for options on wheels.

Great Quality Small Case
Excellent case for a night away and some retail therapy. A good amount of room in there without using the expanding option. Very good quality and the outer pockets are useful too for easy to grab items, hat, gloves, brolly etc. I don't intend to use this as a cabin bag so not sure the size is compatible with that in mind as it is chunky but that is exactly what I wanted.

Don't take on a Ryan Air
The case is well made the wheels are a little tight or stiff this might ease with time and the wear in.. don't try and take it on Ryan air as you will get charged even though according to their dimensions it should be fine overall the case was fine
