Quality Filters at a Good Price
These are high quality filters at a very good price. Can't beat it, even for the store brand at my local grocery. This is a great way to make coffee. Easier to clean up than a coffee press and works better with ordinary coffee ground for drip brew. (A coffee press works best with more coarsely ground coffee.) Some reviewers have mentioned that they've had trouble with edges of the filter "blowing out" and allowing grounds into the coffee. Since the edges are crimped, not glued, this can be a common problem. The trick is to fold the bottom edge over one way and then fold the long edge over the other way, giving the folds a good crease. I've not had a blowout since I started doing this. I did notice that the last box of this brand I got from Amazon had wider crimps than previously, I assume to help lessen the chance of blowing out. I'm still folding them over as described anyway, because it makes them fit my cones better.

Good for Chemex
I used these for my chemex. Though there is a bit of a compromise if you use these. They provide adequate functionality for a great price, but you have to fold over the bottom to make a regular filter shape or it will rip out the bottom. I think they're much more geared towards cup top pour over brewers, but they work ok for my use as well. I would rate 4 stars if you use with a chemex because of their potential to rip, but that would be unfair as that isn't their intended use. If you're going to use a cup top brewer then these are for sure 5 stars.

Great for antique flower making crafts after doing watercolor washes.
I don’t drink coffee, and only use these for crafting ie making antique looking paper flowers. I do a watercolor wash on them and then make into flowers. So take that for what it’s worth. And it works great for that. If you want clear colors, then the bleached ones might work better. From a drinking coffee basis, and if you use RO, distilled water, I think it would make a better cup of tea, coffee etc. but if you use tap water ie municipality water that’s a combo of bleach and ammonia for it to get rid of bacteria in our aging water system, not sure getting non bleached would help. The current water produced for tap water can’t be cleared by letting it set for 24 hours.. takes much, much longer.

Melitta truly the BEST
Truely a classic...filters and drains quickly. Must be the type of paper Melitta uses. Tried cheaper knock offs with terrible results and taste... Don't compromise buy Melitta Filters

You get a good coffee taste with these.
Review for: Melitta #4 Cone Coffee Filters, Unbleached Natural Brown, 100 Total Filters Count Before, when I used store brand #4 filters, my coffee was good tasting, or so I thought. I'd never bought anything else and stuck with the store brands due to the price. I was about to give up on coffee because it tasted so bad. Then one day they had a mega sale and the Melitta filters were at a super mark down price so I figured might as well try what could it hurt. After running out of the others I threw in a Melitta #4 and Holy Moly! The same coffee became outta sight! I was like this is what my coffee actually tastes like. This lead me to uncover all the bleaching & chemicals that went into the cheapo or cheaper filters which is why no matter how it was prepared previously, I would get an unpleasant tasting brew. It was the filters. From that point on I would get the better Melitta ones because it was worth it. When I didn't have the extra dough, I would not buy any filters, stop making coffee in house and wait until I could ge the Melitta's!
