I haven’t learned my lesson about ordering physical books from Amazon, but this may be the last one. Whatever is on the front pulls the ink off the cover if you try to remove it and it has some type of water damage. Other than that- the book is complete and readable. It’s very likely a warehouse issue.

Language and form work together here to illuminate the grotesque and horrific in adolescence--and also the relationship between fear and power. If you like Mariana Enriquez or Samantha Schweblin, I think this is going to be right up your alley.

A difficult style that one is amply rewarded for working through. Great imagery, wonderful mounting dread, a very female book that some male readers might be repelled by.

It must be a translated book. I couldn’t get past the second chapter. Maybe I didn’t give it much of a chance but I don’t have a lot of time to read and this is by far one of the worst books I’ve tried to read. It’s hard to follow and for me hard to understand.

I’m not sure if it was the style this novel was written in or the overall story but I couldn’t get past page 30. Very hard to follow as the author doesn’t seem to have a good grasp on the English language.

I read this book and said, "Dang. Now I'm going to have to buy all of her books." It's amazing! She really nails the creepy pasta kind of scares and links them into a bigger, incisive, social commentary.

Purchased this book as people recommend for horror. I felt this was too slow and I had a hard time staying interested. There is lots of repetition. Overall I felt the storyline was dull and uninteresting. There is no horror that I found in the book so if that’s what you’re looking for then look elsewhere. There is minimal drama and action with no terrible details or events.
