Q: I put the batteries in but mine are not working at all. Do you think I just have a bad one?

Check very carefully that you have the batteries in properly. It is very easy to get a battery in backwards. Be sure that the + on the batteries match the + positions on the light. The + on the light might be a little hard to see. I'll bet that solves the problem.

Q: How do you use the screw I see no hole I the cover

The cover hangs on the base by 2 small studs. The screw is for the mounting plate. After it's attached, you just slide the light down so the studs go in the holes in the back of the light.
