Taconic Shave Natural Pre-Shave Oil, 2 oz, Unscented

Here's what I really *love* about this pre-shave oil: everything. It is slick and thick enough to soften my scruff before shaving and washes off my hands easily. Also, with other oils, my face and pores feel clogged, NOT the case with this oil. The non-scented version still has a very, very, very light scent (it is an oil, after all, so don't expect it to be absolutely scent-free). Have you tried putting a twisty cap back on with oil on your hands (instead of waiting until you are done...which I never remember to do for some reason)? If yes, then this is a pretty solid solution; even if you drop or knock the bottle over, it won't spill everywhere. Also, the pump allows you to use as much as you want/need for your shave...you know how much you want or need. This is a pretty good product, and I regularly don't review anything unless I consider it 4 or 5 stars and above. I hope they keep the formula the same. It works, works well, and works as described and as expected.

I shave in the shower. I've shied away from oils in favor of other pre-shave products because the oil would hang around on the floor of the shower and would need to be specifically washed away. That was annoying enough, but they didn't seem to help out much. This is a good quality pre-shave oil. I get nice results with it. This oil doesn't travel around and get all over the place - including the floor. It's almost sticky by comparison and stays on your hands so you can apply it to your face. My only complaint is the squirt bottle is kind of wonky and I have to This is my new favorite pre-shave product. Does a great job staying where it has been applied and lubricates the shave area well.

I've been using shave oil for about 3 years. I like the light consistency of this oil and it is genuinely fragrance free. No complaints about the product. The dispenser is not good. The pump requires significant force to make it work. On this tiny container, that amount of force is likely to make you drop the bottle. Additionally, the amount that comes out per push is very tiny.

Great product! Love that it is unscented! It will last you for 4-6 months of regular shaving using 3-4 pumps per shave. Comes in a manly looking bottle that is small enough to carry-on a plane. I have an extremely thick and wiry beard therefore I use one of the sharpest blades I can find (Feathers) and a nice shaving soap, and unfortunately I also have sensitive skin. After experimenting with not using pre-shave oil it is quite obvious that I will either cut myself up or not get a close enough shave if I don't use it. This stuff works plus I love that it is unscented so I don't end up smelling like a greasy used car salesman. The unscented also means that you can add your own scent it if you want. I pumped about 10-15 sprays of my mild cologne into one of these bottles and shook it up for an understated scent that my wife loves because it smells like me (not some scent that the oil manufacturer decided to add on a whim). My wife is looking over my shoulder and said that I have to add that she stole it once to use on her legs in a pinch and it works well for that too without drying out your legs (although you will have to use more oil than for just shaving a face).

I purchased a Braun foil razor, at the same time I was looking for some type of lubricant to use with the razor. I purchased the Remington Face-Saver. It is a dry talc. It worked well enough. I thought I could still get a closer shave with this razor. I chose Taconic Premium Pre-Shave oil. WOW !!! what a difference. This pre-shave oil is excellent. Two squirts in the palm of your wet hand, rub in and then shave. There is very little drag the razor just glides over your face. When you finish shaving your skin is smooth as though you applied an after shave balm, not oily or greasy. The fact that this pre-shave oil is scent free allows you to use your after shave with out any mixing of scents. I also believe the use of this oil lubricates my razor, not proven, but I don't have to clean out the dry talc as I did before. I will purchase this product again. I hope this review helps. I am very happy with this oil. The only other oil I can compare it to is the art of shaving oil. This oil is thinner than the art of shaving oil. If you don't know, the art of shaving oil is made of olive oil and caster oil. This oil has a different formula which seems to be more effective at reducing irritation and pain associated with razor cuts and burns. Once I had a painful scratch on my forehead that was really irritating me. I rubbed a little of this oil on it and the pain went away and I was able to forget the scratch was ever there. I do feel that the thicker art of shaving oil provides better lubrication over the coarse of several applications of shaving cream or soap. This oil is not as thick and dissipates quicker. Overall I prefer this oil and it is priced much cheaper than its closest competitor. Plus if I really want the art of shaving oil, I would just make my own by mixing olive oil and caster oil together and save myself the $20. I can't say the same for this oil, as it contains a more complex set of ingredients.

The oil works very well. I found it an improvement over the Clubman Pinaud oil I used previously. I rated four stars because the action of the sprayer is very stiff. It doesn't spray so much as it just dribbles. If you dribble two squirts into the palm of your hand, it is sufficient!

Works very well as preshave to soften whiskers before cream. Helps razor shave smoothly. Although unscented, it gives off a very light citrus scent that I think is really pleasant. Fair price. Very satisfied customer ☺️

Earlier I had used the Taconic shaving cream which was superb..and now this product is awesome too..it smells great..provides fantastic softening to the beard prior shaving..I am absolutely satisfied

L article est exactement comme sur la photo. L odeur est super agréable (je ne connaissais que les produits à l'aloe vera) mais le top c est la manière dont le produit (pour les débutants, bien à mettre avant/sous le savon à barbe lui-même) arrive à rendre la lame douce. Ça ne rape pratiquement plus la peau ni arrache les poils c est vraiment super!

Como aficionado al afeitado clásico voy probando productos nuevos siempre que tengo oportunidad. Y ahora le ha tocado a este aceite de pre-afeitado Taconic. Tras dos semanas de uso ya puedo dar mi valoración y es totalmente positiva. Lo situaría a la altura del pre de Dr K Soap ya que con ambos consigues una buena protección y lubricación. Y cómo es deseable en este tipo de producto, ayuda a un mejor deslizamiento de la cuchilla y no interfiere en el espumado (y es que algunos de estos productos no permiten generar una buena espuma con brocha).
