IDK what the original coating was. I use a light olive oil. I have not experienced any leaching or strange tastes.

Love them

I’m really happy with this set. The quality feels great, and the spoon size and shape are honestly perfect. Comfortable to hold and actually useful for everyday meals. A lot of wooden utensils can feel too flat or awkward, but these have a really nice design. They also look beautiful and feel sturdy without being heavy. Definitely one of those little purchases that ended up being way better than expected.
