Digital Door Lock M210 Mechanical Keyless Deadbolt Double Combination, Satin Nickel

I love this lock. I bought the kind that has numeric key pads on both sides for my backyard gate. It is great and well worth the price. If you have ever installed a lock on a door with existing holes, you can install this lock in minutes. This lock is smaller than it looks on a website, but when you hold it feels very solid and heavy duty. It is made from thick solid steel except for black rubber pads. Rubber parts are thin gaskets between the door and the lock and , I believe are mostly decorative. Overall construction is high quality and it performs great. It comes with easy to follow instructions tools and parts for changing combination or switching it from left-hand to right hand door. I performed both, it took me minutes and was easy for me. I love the fact that it is weather-proof and is 100% mechanical. No batteries or power required. If you live in colder climates you should know that batteries may not work in 20 degrees or below weather.

Precision easy to operate lock. I purchased to replace the doorknob latch and separate deadbolt installed on a steel outdoor gate. "Secret" combination in box did not match settings on either side of lock and inside and outside did not match each other. Required an extra hour of messing about to make the lock work properly. Kit included extra "pins" if you want another digit or two. With this little 12 button lock;- 4 button combination creates 495 possible choices.- 5 buttons creates 792 possible.- 6 buttons creates 924 possible.- 7 buttons back to 792, same as 5.This surprisingly small 12 button lock will not cover both holes of a conventional latch + deadbolt installation. The larger 14 button version may be a better choice to cover more in the door + will provide 4X the possible combinations.Installation is not elegant. Old deadbolt holes were covered temporarily with perforated steel plates from hardware store. Will replace with properly sized 1/8" stainless or aluminum backing plate when time permits.

The fit and finish of the lock unit is superb and Made in Japan.The rubber trim plates under the lock are quite flimsy and underwhelming for the price.Thick door kits run about 18 dollars for (2) screws (2) stand offs, and a longer spindle, which Lockey will insist selling to you after you purchase the 130 dollar lock - I just used longer hex head metric M4 screws and it worked fine and seemed slightly more secure than using standard philips head screws.In comparison, Kwikset has overnighted a thick door kit to me for free on two different purchases..Adding sturdier trim plates(composite or metal trim plates which I heard the "EZ" model might have) would get to 4 stars.Better service or product packaging with the thick door kit from the manufacturer would get to 5 stars.

warning: instruction is for M210 or M210EZ Not for this M210 DC. Similar but not exactly the same, very confusing. Combine the steps of both M210 and EZ and use your common sense. Quite a few parts are not for this model too, like the extra rubber pads and some screws. The most confusing part is that I ended up not use the brass support pin which was mentioned in the instruction of both models. I think you cannot use it with this model with double combination.Other than the extremely poor instructions. I have to give it five stars for the quality and design. Very solid!

Product is good but expensive... I figured I'd pay the higher price assuming it was a superior lock sequence design. I felt disappointed when I learned that the combination is not sequence dependent. Combination 1-2-3-4 is the same as 4-3-2-1 for instance, both work. Other than that, installation went smoothly and the look and operation of the lock is very good. The width of my gate door was right at the limit... so I could have used another 1/4 of an inch on the "long" bolts for my door. I got around the problem by not using the rubber weather guard on one side of the lock.

The description does not mention anything about the order of the keypresses not mattering, and even while locked you can turn the knob enough for the deadbolt to start unlocking, meaning that it can be further moved inwards and fully unlock.

This was very difficult to install and took a lotOf manipulation and even ordering new screws to fit it which costs us 30.00 bc no hardware store carried them. The 4 stars is that it was worth it in the end bc my kids can't get outside to the pool area without a code! The fifth star would've been reserved for all the parts fitting together appropriately
