Description says fits 6 and 8 qt containers. I have a 7.5 container, assume this will fit that container as well???

It depends on the dimensions of your container. This lid fits my 6 at. Tub perfectly & the top of it is 8 3/4" square. 🙂

what is this made of ?

The description says polyethylene.

Why can't you just add this lid to the container and add the prices together ,so annoying { ! } ?

I agree 100% doesn’t make sense!
