Is it long enough to open a truck bed?

I have a 2019 Ford F150 & a 2012 Dodge Ram , The umbrella holder hitch works fine on both trucks, the tail gates are several inches from both when they are lowered.

Is it long enough to allow for opening an SUV rear hatch?

Yes, for me. WAY more than enough for my UTV.

What is the extra threaded holes and bolts for

Put the 2 pieces of square umbrellas extension together and bolt together. If you don’t have room to store like that take apart for storage

Not sure about a truck tailgate but I can open the hatch on my suburban.
