After some fairly extensive research, I determined that these sardines are one of the best quality brands out there. Very tasty, I often eat straight out of the can. They are great with salsa, chopped up in scrambled eggs, mixed into fish cakes, many uses very versatile. The nutritional value is through the roof, so great value for your dollar. I normally get these in water, but their others are great too!

All true, although these were small sardines, less than 2". Nonetheless, the can is packed tightly to the sides so you get the same amount of fish or more than you usually find in a can. I love them. The online sardine review article I read that recommended this brand described horrors in cleanliness and quality of ALL the major brands of sardines that you can find at the grocery store. Sardines are very nutritious, low carb, and convenient. The price per can is around $3 a can, while some good sardines are around $6, so these are a value if you want high quality sardines. I will reorder these.

I love King Oscar products and order them often. I waited a month for these to be delivered due to being out of stock, and received them this evening. They were boxed with one end of the box open, inside a heavy duty paper shipping bag, and when unpacking them to put them away, the first can was bubbled - I could see and feel it when I picked it up, even through the plastic wrapping. All the other 11 cans looked perfectly fine but I noticed a second bloated can that had a bubbled top. Nothing was leaking from any of then. I suspect this was just a canning glitch. Amazon was unable to process a partial credit or replacement, and refunded the order. I really am disappointed, but Amazon is always great, and I will continue to order the King Oscar products since this has never happened before.

I find these to be the best tasting sardines and according to tests done by Consumer's Lab they are one of the few tested by them that are not contaminated with heavy metals today. I eat them primarily for the omega 3s of which they are way higher in than most brands tested.

I was expecting really great sardines, because I absolutely love the king oscar mackerel varieties. The mackerel is nice and firm. It has a lot of rich mackerel taste. It's a treat every time I open a can. These sardines were a terrible disappointment. They have a mushy texture, and they have almost no taste whatsoever. In addition, they're just packed in water, there's no brine to give them some flavor. There doesn't even appear to be any salt. Just these mushy sardines that don't have much flavor. Before these, I had ordered some of the Polar brand smoked bristling sardines. They are fantastically delicious. They're easy to pull out of the jar because they're nice and firm, and I just slurp them down because they are so good. The texture is so firm that you actually have to chew them, and the smoky flavor is just right. Part of the reason I bought these is because the aluminum cans are easier to recycle. The polar come in a jar, little teeny jars, but are just the right amount, and maybe the glass jar also helps to retain the flavor. They're definitely my favorite and the king oscar mackerel is also great. But the sardines fell flat.
