Drains fast works perfect !
Just re did our bathroom and installed this new drain with the tile side up. Works perfect and drains fast never have standing water around the drain even with a 12" Rain head above !I was hesitant to buy based on some of the other reviews. Only thing I can think of is they didn't have enough slope to the drain or they have high tile or grout around the drain because I can tell you I've had this drain installed 3 months now and NEVER had slow or standing water around the drain. The drain also is simple to clean ( strainer ) and rarely backs up with hair in the drain. We collect the hair out about every other week, where our other bathroom we re did last year with another manufacture the drain has to be constantly cleaned out.Buy it, installed right it works perfect !

Awesome finished look to a spectacular home remodel
This drain type was recommended by the tile installers and they told me that this option would look great in the walk-in shower, boy were they right. The added touch of integrating the drain cover to match the pattern and shower floor tile is stunning. I can't imagine that I such a thing as a floor drain is being reviewed with such glowing remarks after all its still a drain. Seriously, if you are considering a designer remodel you have to consider this for your project. I would recommend professional install since it requires some skill to install but my tile crew had no problem with it and the plumber also recommended this particular flange set that allowed better connection to drain system. I definitely recommend this to anyone considering a remodel.

Needs frequent cleaning
I installed this drain in the master shower that my wife and I use daily. I'm bald and she has long hair. We must clean out the basket at least once per week to prevent backups. It's really gross and it's a hassle. I wish I had just installed a regular drain.
