I love that my chair swivels!
I bought one of these for a recliner that I have. The recliner didnโt swivel originally, but it does now. I'd recommend being somewhat handy with basic hand tools if you're planning to convert a chair. I think it took me about 1/2 hour but I love it and will probably convert my other recliner also. I've had this installed for a couple years now and it's stood up great.

Works terrific!
These are great. I has to do some DIY construction on my chair to install the rings. However, it was not too difficult. The swivel rings work perfectly.

The Ring Base itself is very good quality and works well
The Ring Base itself is very good quality and works well. Keep in mind that the four holes on this unit meant to attach it to your chair may not fit for all makes/models of chairs and you may need to make some modifications. My particular chair is a Rocker/Recliner but was not designed to turn in circles. The holes on the Replacement Ring Base did not match the holes on the bottom of my chair but by attaching a larger piece of metal plate to the Replacement Ring Base and then drilling holes in the plate to match the holes in the bottom of my chair, we were able to make the Ring Base work. Its not particularly difficult to do but will require some additional work and materials. We are very happy with the purchase of this product.

Extremely pleased; quality item
First of all, this chairpartsonline.com 25" swivel base is definitely a quality built product. One evidence of that is that the amount of drag in the swiveling mechanism is perfect โ not too tight and not too loose. Second, a comment about installation: The manufacturer has done what it can to provide a relatively easy to install item (i.e. four rectangular carriage bolt holes in the swivel's top plate), so on that basis I gave it 5-stars for ease of installation. Since chairs come in a wide variety of chassis types, and for my chair it turned out that constructing a strong platform to which I could attach the swivel plate was very challenging. The chair had a chassis with numerous holes in it on each side โnice. I know that cross bars can be purchased to attach the swivel base to the chair's chassis, but given what I had to work with, I foresaw significant issues with that and decided on a custom solution. Part of the challenge was that I wanted to ensure that adding the swivel base would only raise the chair the minimum amount possible. I chose to recess the swivel base as much as possible up into the chassis while still allowing sufficient clearance between the chair's chassis and the swivel base. To mount the base, I obtained a 1.5" x 1.5" aluminum angle iron (got it on Amazon; M-D Building Products 58297 1-1/2-Inch by 1-1/2-Inch by 1/8-Inch by 72-Inch Angle Equal Leg Mill), then cut two pieces to the needed length and then drilled them out to match the holes in the chair's chassis. That step โmatching with the existing chassis holesโ seemed like it'd be a snap (just make a paper template, right?), but it turned out to be a bit of a time-consuming nightmare. Once that was finally done however, and once I had glued and screwed together some leftover plywood for the platform and had everything at exactly the right height, it all went together quickly โand attaching the swivel base was easy because of the provided carriage bolt holes. In the end, the swivel base added one inch to the height of the chair above the floor. Everything would have been easier if I had wanted to raise the chair more, but that was exactly what I didn't want. FWIW, I purchased the nuts and bolts, lock washers and super wide washers (for the plywood) at a local DIY supply store where I could see up close what I was getting.

Easy to install, might need oil
The ball bearing mechanism does glide very smoothly. It makes a rattling sound as I spin the base around. Otherwise I see no issues with it. As long as it holds up for as long as the original base did I would call this successful.

Better than OEM
So I reached out to the manufacturer about our Baby Relax Recliner that is about 7 years old. They told me parts were no longer available (ironic since it's a universal part) so I decided to give this one a try. It's a perfect fit and appears to be constructed more solidly and with better welds than what was on the chair originally. It took 5 minutes to install and I'm basing this review on 5 minutes sitting in the chair, but my first impressions are that this is a solid buy to breath new life into a chair.

Good product for a great price.
This was WAY less money than La-Z-Boy's swivel base--less than half! And La-Z-Boy said they didn't have one for my 25+ year old chair. I removed the original non-swivel base frame and used it as a pattern to build a new frame. I placed the center of the swivel pivot directly on a line between the center of the left and right spring sets and it worked perfectly. There is no way that this could be inadvertently tipped over backwards. We are very pleased with it.

Well worth it!
I was hesitate since I thought they wouldnโt be big enough for our sofa chairs. About an hour long DIY project and they still work perfect (installed before last football season started). Perfect for games days and movies. Buy the cross bars also. I screws two 2x4โs across the chair frame. Then mounted the swivel. Easy.
