What’s the difference between the new model and the old model?

I assume you mean the differences between the PRO and the IXR or 2.0

I have both, but the differences are negligible. I do however use my Pro because:

- Newer design, looks sleeker, feels better quality than the other models, fixed the leak issue with the air tight seal
- Longer battery life, you will get more mixes in one session
- Bigger mouth hole for easier drinking (in previous models they were smaller, which was a common issue for people)
- The air tight seal fastens easier and tighter than the previous models
- The motor is apparently more powerful, I noticed that the speed of the vortex’s in the Pro compared to the others is faster, although while this creates a better protein shake, its negligible when it comes to blending protein powder from a purchase standpoint.
- The motor takes 90 minutes to charge. I’m unsure how long the other models takes to charge as the other models I have are older and the motors are worn out, but Promiix imply the Pro has a better battery life and charges quicker.

Mostly you are getting a newer design with a better motor and faster mixer. The Pro Model doesn’t come with the charging feature to chatge phones, whereas the Promiix Stealth does. Although the battery on the stealth for charging phones is only a 1600mAh battery and doesn’t charge most phones to full without dying.

Therefore I recommend you get the PRO because of the features mentioned above.

I’ve used plastic shakers and they start to smell (so I use metal now). Will this eventually start to smell?

I use it 5 days a week and had it all this year,no smell so far

Is the good for weight gainer powder? As mixture is sometimes thicker

Yes providing you use water or semi skimmed milk normally it can handle two scoops and some milk however you need put the second scoop in slowly and not all at once.

Is this any good for mixing slimfast shakes?

I wholeheartedly agree with those who say you can mix Slim fast shakes.
I do, although I have found that if you add more water, ie more than Slimfast say, this improves the smoothness of the shake.
I use PHD slim shakes, but the result is the same.
One scoop to three hundred millilitres of water for thirty seconds, perfect!
