DYMO Authentic Standard D1 53713 Labeling Tape (Black Print on White Tape, 1'' W x 23' L, 1 Cartridge), Package May Vary

Have purchased a variety of the Dymo label tapes and have been very satisfied with their performance in terms of the print quality produced and the adhesion on clean reasonably flat surfaces. Some of the labels have been applied on a boat that is stored outside over the winter and have not experienced any adhesion failures (temperatures down to around 0 degrees F). I tried to use the labels longitudinally on large wire gauges but that does not work well so changed to using longer lengths of the label tape and wrapping the label around the wire sticking it to itself which solved the problem. Completely satisfied with the both the performance of the Dymo label maker and label tapes.

I'm giving this product 5 stars because there is nothing at all wrong with this label tape. It does what it should, however it is NOT THE PERMANENT TYPE. This type is mislabeled in this ad as permanent. It is actually the "easy peel" type and will not stick well to plastics, smooth metal, etc. It does stick well to paper products and it is easy to get the backing off. If you are looking for the permanent Dymo tape do an Amazon search for 16955. That is the model number you need. It comes in 18 ft lengths (instead of the 23 ft) and is sold in a plastic blister pack. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it in the white-on-black variation. I hope this helps you out and saves you from the trouble of having to return a nearly useless 10 dollar item.

The DYMO High-Performance Permanent Self-Adhesive Labels work as expected. The only issue that I had is that I needed to trim some plastic from the door to the label cartridge holder. Otherwise, the labels work like a champ.

I've been using this item in my home and office for 5 weeks. Simple to use, nice features and relatively compact size make this an excellent value. I appreciate the way it is designed to use tape efficiently. DYMO offers a variety of compatible tapes. I don't have a a single complaint about this purchase.

This Dymo tape is for making clear labels with white lettering. It's ideal for use over dark surfaces. It adheres extremely well to surfaces and doesn't peel off as easily as regular "non-permanent" labels. Although it is "permanent," it IS removable and doesn't leave a sticky residue behind after it's removed. The easy peel feature makes peeling off the adhesive backing relatively quick and easy. Recommended.

I would have given this a 5 star rating, but like the prior Dymo label maker I had, this one is a waster of label tape. (Gee, I wonder why.) If you change label tape (as in color) it resets the print size, (no other settings though) even though you haven't told it to, wasting a label. Trying to READ what print size is selected almost requires a magnifying glass (Gee, I wonder why.). The first label printed invariably jams or prints crooked, or both, wasting a label. Someone asked in the questions whether or not the label wastes tape by printing the labels way bigger than they need to be. The answer was no, but the answer is yes. It adds almost a half inch to both sides of the label. If you print in a medium size, and don't use the two-line feature, it leaves a stripe down the middle of the label where the characters don't print. Overall, I can live with it, just be aware you will burn through some tape with this one.

Excellent product at a good price even if it took several weeks to arrive from the USA by surface mail. The 9mm tape seems to be unkown in the UK.
