I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

This dyneema is slightly different than the Samson Amsteel. Its much flatter and has 12 strands instead of 8. It was a little harder to splice at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. Overall it's been great for making my whoopie slings.

Super strong and durable. My FIRST Robotics Competition team has been using this on robots for years to operate winches and elevators. This cord is incredibly strong and durable. It easily lifts a 150 lb robot for hundreds of cycles without breaking. The breaking strength for the 1/8" size is about 1600 lbs. Highly recommend when strength and durability are needed

This cord is 50% lighter than paracord. The picture looks black and black s what i wanted but it is actually a slate grey color. It will still blend well in camo color scemes. It does melt with a lighter but not cleanly or quickly. Typicaly one would tie a knot in the end or burn the end after working with the cordage but, this rope begins to unfray far too easily. I was sewing small loops of this cordage to a water bladder cover that i made, and in places the rope lost its tight weave just from handling it. I have included a picture of the loose weave. All in all i am happy with this rope. It is wicked strong, light and has a smaller profile to fit in my pack for such things as ridgelines and other outdoor applications. This rope may be a little bit high-maintenance when compaired to paracord but its other features make it worth buying anyway.

I bought this to fix a salad spinner. Yeah, it's overkill, but I don't want to ever tear that thing apart again. This cord is very strong and cut-resistant. A single-edge razor blade (the slightly dulled one I scrape a glass-top range top with) couldn't make it through. It sort of damaged the braid and provided a flattened section that in turn was very difficult to get through with scissors. It was more chewing than snipping. The cord has the waxy feel of polyethylene. It knots easily and securely. With a little work, the knots untie. I. e., it doesn't "weld" onto itself and make permanent knots, not the ones I tied. The cord is not super limp. A 1/8" piece of braided nylon would of course hang straight under its own weight. A 1/8" piece of braided polypropylene hardly hangs but rather maintains whatever curly shape it has, like a plucked curly hair. A piece of this 1/8" cord mostly hangs under its own weight, but it curves, maintaining some of the curl it had when it was on the spool. Part of the reason I bought this was for its color fastness. We'll see how that holds up.

The paracord has held up to rough outdoor use. I use it to secure the bottom of my climbing sticks so they don't kick out. There is a lot of rough surface on the climbing sticks and the bark from the trees. This para cord has held up with no damage.

Ive used up my 100 feet of 3mm dyneema. To me it is a cross between Amsteel SK78 and Marlow Ropes SK99. Closer to the original SK90, which I've also found will flake and turn a lighter grey, but to a much lesser extent than this line. That is my only complaint as otherwise it acts like a heat set dyneema (which is NOT as soft as the standard Amsteel SK78). It has held up fine everywhere I have used it. It isn't my first choice for soft shackles or above deck applications because of the tendency to shed but its still quality line. FYI, raw dyneema is not mean to be used in a cleat on a sail boat, so if that is your intention, please learn a bit about rigging.

Been holding up an outdoor antenna for a couple of years through sun and a number of violent storms, impressed that it is still up given its small diameter. Also use it for small stays on a kayak, negligible stretch.

Used for a number of soft shackles. Fairly stiff until given a good rolling in the hands, then splices fine. Confident in its strength.

Good cord, 4mm dynema. braids and splices easily, good to work with and inexpensive. Great for light weight adjustable woopy slings and soft shackles for hammock. Well priced and no issues would recommend
