My 8 year old loves this punching bag. It can take all the hits he can give it and pop back up for more. It has even endured a few ground and pounds.He always wants to hit my heavy bag but its way too hard and he still needs to develop proper punching techniques. I'm didn't want him to hurt himself punching my bag. Since this standing bag is air filled, he wont hurt his fists and wrists punching it. He is starting to get some really good hit on it with better form.We filled the bottom with water and it works just fine. I just filled it in my laundry tub. It says you can use sand if you like. I chose water because 1) it seemed easier to fill than sand and 2 )I didn't have sand.I recommend this for kids maybe years 5-10 depending on how hard your kid can hit. This is a cool punching bag and my son has fun hitting it.The bag is well made but will not stand up to adult sized hits. The water bladder on the bottom will break and it will not stand back up very well after that. (I may or may not have broke his first bag this way). If your kid can hit the bag soo hard that it flies back and the whole thing bounces off the floor like a basketball, I would say its time to upgrade to a soft kid sized heavy bag and wrap his/her wrists.

This is an update to my earlier review (below). I'm still totally satisfied in the product and even more so the company...the reports of great customer service are spot on! One bag developed a leak and my patch worked mostly but left a slow leak. The company replaced it without questions. Keep in mind these aren't indestructible and there will be some that leak more quickly (not always a fault of the product, e.g. over inflating, picking it up or moving it without supporting the heavier base, etc.) My grandkids have punched and kicked these bags for months now, including kicks off a bench. For me, these are a bargain, particularly given the great customer service from the company.Earlier review: l have a 'ninja course' in my basement for the grandkids and this addition has gotten great reviews from the grands. As one said, "this is awesome". The oldest is 10, and the course includes a rope that they use for flying kicks, so the bag is plenty durable. I have the base filled with pea gravel (which took some time even with a funnel, but was well worth it). I do my own punches and standing kicks too! Any inflatable, rubber bag can get leaks, and some will leak quickly due to seam or stem failure problems that will occur in any manufacturing process. But based on other reviews, the company replaces these quickly so I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Purchased this because husband was tired of getting punched by the boys. It was really fun but lasted about 2 months and now it is deflated. My kids do not take martial arts class. Have not tried to patch or mend it yet.

Update: The company did send us a third one. After a few weeks, the bottom piece where the seam is started to leak water. Again, the customer service is wonderful, but the product is not worth the money. Now to find a new punching bag for my six year old little boy.My 6 year old loved this punching bag from Santa. We filled it with water. I think the better option is to fill with sand. January 8th we found three different leaks on base of bag. I reached out to the company and a replacement is arriving tomorrow. Great customer service. I hope this one will last . My little boy has really enjoyed it for the short time he has had it.Update: The owner reached out to me. They have a gift coming in the mail for my little boy. They are sending me a full refund and I don’t have to send the product back. Absolutely superb customer service!

I was intimidated to inflate it on my own, but my 5 year old was begging me to! Super easy to do and without a mess! I chose to use water, just hooked my hose up to it and once it was filled, sealed it off without a mess. Super easy to inflate with an air pressure, took just seconds. And since it’s be inflated, it has taken a beaten from our 4 kids (ages 2-9) and held its own. It was an INSTANT hit! Great customer service, easy to activate the warranty, and super happy with the quality and durability.
