Very high capacity for such a small device. It IS a USB-A port, not a C which is what most ports are these days, but I needed this A for an older device . It works well and is barely visible while in use.

This brand claims to be around 20 Mbytes/sec faster, on read, than Samsung for 512 Gb, at 200 Mbytes. I'm giving it a good test for all my transfers, etc., in the past few days. If I see anything important, I'll edit. Sometimes, I re-copy a full chip that I want to save, and I notice that doing so actually 'defragments' the files about 25 Gbytes for a full 512Gb transfer. So, I'll be using this device in organizing my saved work. That should be a good test. So far, it's worked well.....when transferring video and stuff it has matched all byte counts perfectly, and when you're using 1/2 Tbytes as file size, that's good. Speed wise, I really can't tell yet, but after awhile I'm sure I'll see for myself. I know one thing for sure.....it ain't slow. And I really like the portability. Just be careful not to lose it. It's so small. And, don't lose the clear cap if you're going to be carrying it around in your pocket.....that's a lesson I had to learn for myself.

Picked this flash drive up with the intended use as a LiveCD for a Raspberry Pi setup. Reading some reviews online it received mixed reviews on this intended usage. Some stated it was a good value while others gave the impression it was pretty good. For basic transfer of files it was speedy and worked fine. Once I flashed the OS onto the drive and installed it into the Raspberry Pi and booted up the mediocre performance came front and center. It took about 30 minutes for the OS to get booted in and to run updates on the system. While this is not bad it is far from a quality experience. The read/write performance falls down unfortunately. Boot time on the system and miscellaneous files is just average. If you are using this device for basic files copy / paste it will work fine for what it does. BUT If you are looking for something for LiveCD / Raspberry Pi usage it will not perform well for the task.

Since new vehicles don't cone with CD players (yes kids, im that old) I give this fir my new Sierra and put my music on it. Its super small so you don't have a large thumb drive sticking out anywhere. PNY makes great thumb drives, this one is no different. You do have to reformat it to take the partition out to use itcinbthis manner.

I bought the 256 GB model to plug into an Internet radio/mp3 player. Even though the player can stream from DLNA, I wanted to have the songs local just to simplify it all. Since I didn't want a huge USB stick pointing straight out the back, the slim design of this was just what I was looking for. 256GB is more than enough for the # of songs I have, so hopefully this will work well. I literally just took this out of the package and ran a DiskMark on it right away. When choosing between makes/models, I was a little worried when I saw some other reviews with a DiskMark image that showed it performing slow, so I thought I'd do it first thing before a single bit had been written by anything else. I'm happy to see that the read & write speeds are just what I would expect when plugged into my laptop's USB 3.0 port. Sequential is high, and even though it's just the 1 GB test, I'm satisfied. The next step will be to see how it does when copying 160+ GB of MP3's to it. It might have an initial buffer that helps the benchmark look better, but honestly, I don't care too much about the write speed since I'll be copying the files once up front, and then from time to time I'll add more, but otherwise it's mostly for reading, and probably at USB 2.0 speeds. If anything unusual shows up as I use it more, I'll update with pictures or more notes, but so far I'm pretty happy and it seems to work fine. EDIT: I had a chance to copy a bunch of MP3's to it, and the speed held out as expected. It really can't keep up a high sustained speed, and I didn't think it would (this isn't an SSD, after all). But it did manage to maintain an average 16.34 MBps when copying 121 GB to it. See the attached output from a robocopy. I copied over a couple other folders of 15-20 GB and the results were nearly the same, between 16.5 - 17 MBps. One thing I did notice is that there's a burst for the first couple seconds where it must fill up a buffer, and then over the next 15-18 seconds it writes at around 10-12 MBps, then another huge burst, and so on. But averaging 17 MBps was pretty good in my opinion.
