The pink wand is what is used to pick up the gems You take that and stick the end into the wax and it will leave a hole in the wax. The wax goes inside the end. Then you one by one pick up the gems, they stick to it and release from the wand once you press it into place. When the gems no longer pickup you will need more wax. Repeat. Hope this helps

Where do you put the gems? Does it come with trays?

I don't believe so. My daughter put then in a few plastic bowls we have.

is this product for a four year old ?

It would depend on your child’s level of dexterity. I have a 4 year old granddaughter who has the attention span to stay with the D.P. Project…and have older grandkids who lose patience pretty quickly.

To pick up and stick the gem to the art piece. It is very tedious.
