JoyoJF-11 6-Band Equalizer Guitar Effect Pedal

Versatile pedal that works well!
A simple EQ pedal that does what it is supposed to well enough. I bought this to give me a bit of feedback control on a hollow body Gretsch that mooed like a cow when I got within a light-year of a loud overdriven amp. It worked a bit but by removing the problem frequencies it destroyed the sound that I liked. Obviously a parametric would have done a better job but In the end I bought a semi solid Gretsch which nailed the sound and no feedback problems. The Joyo is a nice pedal but be careful when buying an eq pedal. The frequency bands will suit one guitar perfectly and sound next to useless on another guitar. Humbucker guitars like Les Pauls have a warm full mid range with a high frequency roll off. You won't really get a Telecaster sound by boosting the high frequencies and cutting the low mids. Nor will you warm up a strat and turn it into a 335. What this is better for is getting sounds that are already IN the guitar and emphasising them. So better to try before you buy. Or do extensive research on line. What this is great for is to give your guitar a big boost by upping all the bands especially the mid range for solos. You can tailor the sound to your amp distortion set up and get the very best sound to cut through without completely changing your overall tone. Alternatively if you have THAT sound sorted then bringing the bands down below centre and cutting the low mids or bass will lighten up your sound for a cleaner rhythm sound that will sit in the mix without cluttering the low end. So it is a very versatile little beastie

Works well
Does what it says on the tin. Makes a 3w amp sound like a 5w-amp with no compromise on sound . Enhances sound quality particularly if your amp only has a single tone control looks quite sturdy but loses a star because the batrery is difficult to squeeze in the battery compartment

this is an excellent graphic EQ
For the price, this is an excellent graphic EQ. I also have the more expensive MXR 10 band graphic EQ which sits on my "electric" pedalboard and I bought the Joyo one for my "acoustic" board; a job which it fits admirably. The pedal itself is quiet in operation and very robust. All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this pedal to anyone considering a cheap but totally useful EQ pedal.

Good pedal
Excellent eq pedal, clone of the MXR one at a fraction of the price, I have both and it compares favourably. I haven't experienced any noise issues. I use it on a board dedicated to acoustic playing and it really enhances the sound.

Does the job
Slighty effects signal clarity, but otherwise it's a decent cheap EQ pedal.
