Easy to clean and beautifully classy!
Very loud whistle...kinda like a screaming opera singer - but at least I know when the water is boiling. Works fabulously with the bluestar range running propane. The paint is robust on the outside and the inside has discoloration but no rust or chemical spots like the thin tin ones everywhere on Amazon these days. The handle has a hotpad. I keep it on there unless its in the wash. The handle gets too hot to touch if its sitting on simmer for very long. I usually fill through spout, but lid works fine too. High capacity. Best water kettle I've used in 43 years.

My favorite teapot, so glad to find this!
This teakettle looks like the day it came - shiny and beautiful. It works just as promised - holds up to medium heat without stains on the bottom. You can see the bottom - which is a benefit. I've had colored enamel over metal teakettles in the past which were pretty but the black inside enamel could never really see what was going on with water mineral buildup, etc. This one is gorgeous inside and out and on the bottom too. It is sturdy. The handle is sturdy and does not get hot for me where it is held. I was worried it would be too heavy for me, as I wanted a kettle that could boil at least 8 cups of water at a time for my iced tea routine. But it is not too heavy. Just take care as you would with any amount of boiling water. The lid comes off just fine but it also stays on just fine, so you don't have to worry about it falling off while you're pouring hot water. The whistle part is working really well and seems it will continue to be sturdy also. It does whistle, but after the water is hot and really boiling. You can see inside the clear glass lid when it is starting to get hot, and you can see steam come out of the spout if you briefly open the whistle top. So, you don't have to wait for a whistle to tell you it is hot enough for your coffee and tea. It also stays hot a long while after you've heated up the water, so if you want to boil your water for coffee before you need to use that burner for your other cooking, the teakettle will keep the water hot til you want it a little later. Viking lives up to its great reputation.

Viking Tea Kettle for the win!
I decided I wanted a tea kettle because I've been drinking lots of tea while working from home. I like Viking cookware and have a few pieces and use regularly so was drawn to this one, in red. It took me weeks to decide because there were a few negative reviews that made me hesitate. I'm glad I decided to just order it already, because it's really great. It came very well packaged so I don't know how people are seeing chips on theirs. It's a rugged, tough painted surface. Fit and finish could not be better. I don't see any issues inside or out and I've used this daily for three months now, usually several times per day. It pours really well with no spilling at all which somehow some reviewers have experienced. The inside remains spotless with it's nice stainless steel makeup. People have reported the handle gets too hot but I disagree, it gets warm for sure but doesn't anything when left on a hot stove burner? I have no trouble grabbing it with my bare hand but if it was too hot, there's always a dish towel nearby to use but I've never needed to. The spout cap / whistle fit is tight and wow does it sound off as the attached video will show. I like the silicone cover on the lid lever, you can open it with your bare finger without getting burnt. For me, the most impressive thing for is just how fast water warms up. I use mine on a gas range. I always have a lot more than one cup of water in it, and it heats as fast or faster than a microwave can. Overall, this is a great product. If you're looking for the best tea kettle out there, I'd encourage you to buy this one.

Heirloom quality kettle
Best Kettle I've ever owned. After looking for an "affordable" kettle, buying and being disappointed by a considerably cheaper model, I came to this one. I've used it at least twice a day for the last 6 months and it looks and performs like it did the day I received it. I've read other buyers who have commented on hot handles, rust, chipped paint, etc. This does not reflect my experience at all. The handle is cool to the touch, it whistles, it doesn't rust, and the finish is as beautiful as the day I unwrapped it. It is expensive and a little heavy. But, it will outlast my spouse and I by many years.

A nice kettle but not nice enough for the money
I am a tea lover and a pour over coffee drinker so I use my tea kettle ALOT and needed a quality kettle that wouldn’t cost nearly as much as my monthly mortgage. I have been using this kettle for about a week and overall it’s great. I love the placement and design of the handle! The glass lid secures and comes off with ease. It pours nicely, such that I can even make pour over coffee without water spilling!! It looks great and functions well. My only negative critique is value for the money spent. It is a light kettle and not as sturdy as I thought it would be for the brand and price. It feels a bit cheap. Definitely not a “viking” sturdy kettle but overall it is designed well and looks great. I am only disappointed with the quality for being a Viking brand product and costing nearly 100.00 it doesn’t quite hit the mark.

A gorgeous lifetime tea pot
This tea pot is actually stunning. I never thought I’d call a tea pot stunning, but the quality is obvious when you see it. The size is typical, it doesn’t leak, and it is durable. Easy to clean, and has a nice loud whistle. Easy to handle when hot, and comes with a quilted handle cover for safety that protects your hand from heat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Awesome gift idea, or a treat for yourself and is a beautiful addition to any stovetop. It’s well worth the price, as this is a “lifetime purchase.”

Not ideal for gas stoves
I so wish I could keep this kettle because I absolutely love it but it just doesn’t work for gas stoves. The handle is burning hot as it you have to put the sleeve in or use an oven mitt to hold it. I’m too paranoid to keep the sleeve on while it’s boiling over open flames. I’m sure it would be perfect for electric stoves. It’s solid and will last forever. Boils quickly too.

Viking tea pot rusts. 👎
I've looked extensively for a tea pot, seems the metal ones all have issues. This one rusts. I dry it everyday, but rust keeps coming. Very disappointing. Whistle works, the longer it boils the louder it gets. It's heavy for me, especially when filled, but I never put more than 2 cups in. Handle stays cool. I kept it past a month, too late for a return. I don't want to drink rusty water, so I'm done with this pot, it's going in the garbage or to Goodwill. This pots insides had a golden glow when I first got it, I wonder if it was used? It poured well, no messy dripping. There's a thumbnail depth of a well where the pot wall & bottom come together that holds water. It's impossible to get all water out unless you wipe it. Where the spout & pot come together there's a raised ridge that holds small amounts of water from coming out of the pot. As clean as this pot looks, I can always wipe off rust from inside. Works on induction. The spout will flip a tiny amount of water when you open it, keep your hand away from it after boiling. The glass lid fits well, no stem or water leaks, it's knob can get warm, don't remove lid until pot cools & water stops steaming.
