Top Tier
Back in my Search and Rescue days Danner Boots were the top choice for those who could afford them. My post got very used European military surplus boots , we hand picked from a very big box, rarely did you find a left and a right with exactly the same European size number stamped on it. When I saw these official Danner marine RAT boots I jumped on the deal , even if I am in my seventies now . They are amazing , they have increased my stability on rough ground as if I was Fifteen years younger. They are much easier to get on and off than any boot I have ever worn , and my feet have stayed warm even though the temperature has been well below freezing.

Super impressed!
I am a self proclaimed boot guy. I have been ever since I just barely started to walk. A good pair of boots becomes a part of you, especially when you are a person of action. These RAT boots by Danner are super awesome to me. I used to think my Corcoran Marauders were the top pick, and they are great, but these Danner RAT boots are a new personal favorite in the U.S made combat style boot category. The materials are top notch, the boots fit true to size, and the design is superb. I like the heavier use of leather in the design as opposed to like say the Marauder and how they are a majority Nylon Cordura. I got the non steel toe version with the Gore Tex liner. Love the poly coated toe and heel cap! I like the use of Nubuc Leather as opposed to the more rough suede on some tan or brown boots of this type. These will be easier to care for and will stain less. Bought mine from a MIL Surplus seller for $99! That’s a lot of great American made high quality boot for the money! Thinking about buying a few more to put back. The Marine Corps no longer issues these and there are quite a bit of overstock contract buy back boots on the military surplus market, so get ‘‘em while you can! Don’t think twice, and get yourself a pair if they have your size, definitely a no brainer!

Wish I had these an infantry Marine back in 1988!
These boots are incredible. Comfortable, light-weight, excellent traction, very good support and excellent cushion. Feel like I could hump (a grunt-hike!) for days and days with these. And they’re water-proof! I wore 1960’s-style jungle boots in the 1990/91 Gulf War and during my service with the USMC. These Danner RAT boots are awesome and highly recommended.

Good boot
Ordered 10W as it was the only size option i had that was close to what i wear. I am a 10 regular. They fit nice and there is room for thick socks if needed. I bought these to replace my Bates that i sadly lost in a house fire the first year i was outta the Corps. So far i like these ones. Not as awesome as my Bates but those were also very well broke in. Time will tell.

Overall a good boot.
Worn on deployment. They are all-day comfortable, and despite multiple (double-socked) humps, have not caused any blisters. I would love to keep them for hunting when I get out next year, but they're just a tiny bit too big for that even, despite the outrageous price. We're now 3 months into this deployment, and they've seen some serious abuse but just keep taking the punishment in stride (pun intended). They are much lighter than my other Danners. However, they are easily a half-size or a full size too large; larger than my also-size-10(D) Danners from when we wore BDUs. I wish I could return them for a smaller size, but by the time I had gotten this last-minute purchase (short-fused tasker), I was on a plane and it was too late. I would happily exchange them for a size 9.5 D in lieu of the 10E that I have. Make sure you try them on.

Best pair of boots I’ve ever owned
Straight up combat boots. I hike multiple miles a day for work and these have done the trick for me. After heavy hiking in cheap boots, my feet began to develop pain towards the front of my foot. After switching to quality boots the pain has gone away. They are quite stylish, the nubuck leather just needs to be brushed after a long days work to keep the boots in top condition.

NOT THE GORTEX MODEL
The picture, description, and even the “answered questions” section say that this is the non vented gortex model. I received the hot weather model. I thought it was a shipping mix up so I exchanged for a new pair but the new boots are also the hot weather model. this is the only way I have figured out to warn anyone as I couldn’t find a way to report the listing as misleading. They’re probably great boots, they just aren’t the boots being advertised

Love these boots
I know they have been surplussed and that’s why I got a deal on them, but they are very comfortable and supporting. I like that they are made in USA. I wore them at the Outer Banks to climb a lighthouse on a stormy day, so I can tell you they were comfortable going up all those steps, and they kept out the rain during the trip.
