Should have bought this first
We had to muffle the very, very loud sound of a new air conditioning/ HVAC unit we recently installed in our condo. We live in Florida so the a.c. is on all the time. We stupidly purchased two cheaper sound muffling acoustic paneling products first, both were foam. The black foam squares of the first product had no adhesive backing but each square panel was made up of v-shaped rows of sound muffling acoustic material. The other was a roll of acoustic foam with adhesive on the back. Both products helped but neither were great (the ridged material was a pain to install). In a desperate act of hopefulness, we bought the felt-based squares (with adhesive backing). They are as thick as the foam roll but rigid, not floppy. The felt-based squares are double the price of the other products but so much better! The felt-based acoustic tiles actually subdue the roar of the new HVAC unit, and they are easy to install. Spend the money. Get the job done well and easily -- the felt also is a better environmental product, too.

For my quilt blocks
I’m using these for my quilt blocks I ordered 2 packages. I used a sanding block to rough them up. So the blocks stick to them. And if there a little heavy I use pins. Used 2 way mirror sticky tape attached to a thin piece of wood then hanged that up so the adhesive doesn’t ruin the wall. No fleece or batting problems.

Helps muffle heavy machinery sounds, perfect for doors
I used this on the steel door of an HVAC equipment room, in addition to mineral wool insulation in the unfinished walls. Before I applied this, I could hear a low rumble, a mid range whoosh, and a high pitched squeak from the other side of the door. It was only 36.5dB, but annoying. First I applied 18 tiles to the side of the door facing the equipment. That made a noticeable difference. Then I added mineral wool insulation batts to the unfinished walls close to the door. That also made a difference. Then I added 6 more of these tiles to completely cover the door and the header above the door. Now the sound on the other side of the door is a whisper of white noise, only 32dB. I'm very happy with the result. These squares are self-adhesive, easy to apply, easy to cut. They don't smell.

Very easy application, mostly.
Used to cover two desk top privacy buffers. See picture. L shape so go on ends of adjacent work tables in non-profit work/conference room.Applied to 3/4 inch plywood frames. 24 inches deep, 18 inches high. Back of L 12x12 inches. We found normal size push pins can be used for pictures and notes.Tiles were cut smoothly and cleanly on 10" table saw with fine tooth blade. When cutting especially with rip fence be sure to hold them done firmly as saw blade can easily kick their light weight back at you. I lost two to damage ere I learned that lesson.I found impossible to get backing to peal from a corner. Used a utility knife almost flat to surface to make a starting cut in backing to begin the removal.Used spring clamps to align all tiles before unclamping them one at a time to apply. They seem very well attached. Will see how they hold up in use.

Look good, minimal effectiveness
Easy to install and looks good. However it seems like there wasn’t much of a difference with acoustics in the room and almost no difference in insulating sound between rooms. I bought 4 packs of these and covered an entire wall of my office so I hoped for a more noticeable difference. There is a card in the pack that says the product isn’t designed for sound insulation but it conveniently leaves that out of the product description at the time I purchased.

Perfect Noise Reduction for My Office
I installed these acoustic panels on the back of my office door, and they work perfectly. They noticeably reduce noise and improve sound quality, making my workspace much more focused and professional. The panels are slim and unobtrusive, and the gray color blends nicely with the room. Installation was easy, and the 18-pack provided just the right amount of coverage. I’m really happy with how they turned out!

Looks great
Note that these units have a very thin, transparent adhesive film that can easily separate with the white backing when you peel off the backing - make sure you separate the white backing from the adhesive and leave the adhesive on the panel. Note that this adhesive backing is very aggressive and is the full size of the back of the panel. If you misjudge your initial placement or change your mind for placement, good luck. It is almost a certainty that these panels will not come off without taking the paint with them. To avoid this damage if removal is wanted, I left the white backing on and instead removed small 1" squares of it around the back of the panel to expose the adhesive film. I then stuck the small 1" removable adhesive squares over these cutouts (the added squares need the adhesive of the panel to stick to it) and stuck the panels on the wall using the added squares. This enables the panels to be removed or repositioned in the future. These panels look great bordered with the black sound-proofing panels (the v-ridged ones) on each side, and the combination makes for the perfect background for hanging a large-screen TV.

Great for PERMANENT INSTALL ONLY!!!
The media could not be loaded. If you're going for a permanent installation and you don't plan on removing these, then these will stick to drywall like you've never seen anything stick before in your life. The problem is if you ever try to remove them, this is exactly what it looks like, and you will need to get your entire drywall either replaced or sand down and this cost us about $1800 to replaceThe issue is the instructions above said that you can remove them with a hair dryer but that didn't work at all. So understand what you're purchasing
