Like 3M "70" silicone tape there is a plastic coating on one side to stop it from just fusing the entire roll as it gets manufactured. Unlike the silicone / 70 the plastic isn't wider than the tape and easy to remove. Once you figure that out it works as advertised and seals and fuses to itself.

I tried to see if it would stick to itself with no luck. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The tape works as expected, though the clear-white plastic coating which protects the tape from self-fusing while it is on the roll is the same width as the black tape, so it is difficult to peel-off. To overcome this I recommend to always cut the black tape a little more than the underlying plastic coating, to allow peeling from that point. The product is made in Brazil. Even though the item was supposed to be new, it arrived with the box top torn-off. Since the box’s lid has the batch number and manufacturing date printed on it, I was unable to check how fresh the tape I was sent was. The tape inside the box did look new and usable, so I didn’t go though the trouble of returning the item, but it is disappointing that Amazon ships items like this as new.

Una cinta increíble, cierto es que tiene su miga a la hora de ponerla, tienes que estirarla bastante antes de enrollar el cable y demás, pero se ciñe y queda el cable estupendo, además no lo deja tan rígido como lo hace el plástico termorretráctil. Si el cable no estará condicionado a rozarse o moverse y queraría en un lugar fijo, se puede usar sola sin problemas, en intemperie incluso. Pero si el cable es un cable que va a estar tirado por el suelo, tiene riesgo de moverse, rozarse con algún elemento, pisarlo etc, recomiendo que después de aplicar esta cinta eléctrica, la cubráis con cinta aislante de toda la vida, y os durará para siempre. Das 3M Scotch Band ist zwar nicht gerade preiswert, aber dafür auch die gute gewohnte Qualität von 3M! Ich habe das Band schon mehrfach für kleine Reparaturen an Kabeln genutzt, z.B. wenn die Isolierung beschädigt war. Das Band lässt sich sehr gut verarbeiten. Einfach ein Stück abschneiden, die Folie abziehen und dann beim Umwickeln der Reparaturstelle das Band gut dehnen / lang ziehen. Mehrfach leicht versetzt / übereinander wickeln, bis die defekte Stelle vernünftig abgedeckt ist. Das Band haftet gut und hält auch Wochen und Monate später noch einwandfrei. Wo sich normales Isolierband nach gewisser Zeit bei Benutzung anfängt sich abzulösen, bleibt das Scotch Tape fest. Meine Meinung: Taugt! Und dadurch, dass man das Band beim Umwickeln lang zieht, braucht man auch nicht sehr viel für eine einzelne Reparaturstelle. Wenn mein Band verbraucht ist, kaufe ich definitiv wieder davon nach!

Works as it should

Sticks well. Very good for the price. This one fuses so much better than other options. if you have been using vinyl tapes, switch to this one, and you'll never go back again. this is especially useful for wet areas, or places where normal vinyl electrical tapes peel off with sticky residue.
