Very Good Quality Tools-All You Need for Cat5/6 Wiring Jobs
I bought the crimping tool kit to have a complete set of items I need for a fairly large Cat6a wiring job. The crimping tool is very sturdy and easily accommodates RJ45 plugs (both 26AWG and larger 23AWG-staggered wiring). The crimper has a ratchet setup to allow re-gripping for final pressure. But the ratchet release takes a little time to get used to it. It is a good idea and works fine once mastered. Should not be an issue in normal use. The strain relief covers (or socks as I call them) fit nicely over normal Cat5/6 wiring 26 gauge but do not fit over 23 gauge wire that is rated for plenum use. A minor issue but for large industrial jobs, you will need larger "socks". For most home projects these are fine. The RJ45 plugs are pass through and the internal alignment with wiring is very smooth and easy to use. Even wiring this is not perfectly straightened out can be inserted with minimal effort and achieve a good connection. The, circuit tester requires one 9v battery. It works fine, easily checking each line of a Cat5/6 cable for continuity by showing a green light as it sequentially steps through the test (1 - 8). A misfire shows up clearly. Makes checking cables a cinch before installing in hard to access chaises or between floors...From experience, it is best to check cables before installing. All in all a good crimping kit for the price. Cannot comment on how long it will last but heft of the actual crimper seems very durable. Update Change from 5 to 4 stars: After two days of use the Circuit Tester appears to have become defective. It worked fine at first but now has developed a problem. I have checked the tester using known good cables and the circuit tester error shows up the same on all cables. I have requested a replacement from the company. Will update when the problem is resolved. Further update. Supplier was very prompt in sending me a replacement circuit tester. This one works perfect and I have now revised my rating back to 5 stars based on excellent customer service.

Great value---would buy again.
I haven't crimped an Ethernet cable in almost twenty years, but this kit made it easy. It came with everything I needed except the cable. The tester uses a single 9V battery, and it sequentially tests which pin on one end is connected to another. I crimped several Ethernet cables for a home project without any problems. Besides crimping, the tool also strips and cuts wire. I used RJ45, but later I may need RJ11, which it can do also. (I remember having a simple tester with LED indicators that directly checked for the correct order of T568B, but I don't see those for sale now. I prefer that kind because it's quicker and more intuitive. Still, the product I got from Amazon is great.)

Great tool, not so great connectors
This is a great kit, but buy some passthrough connectors, the included ones are not great.

Surprisingly good for the money
I was helping my company open up a new office, the other side of the country and although we were having the wiring professionally done, I figured it would not be a bad idea to have some basic tools on hand in case I needed to make patch cables, or do some network testing. This was a far cry from my regular $500 plus wiring kit at home, but I wanted some thing I could leave in the office for the next time I’m out there. As expected, I ended up needing my it a couple times, and I was blown away by just how good it was. The wire strippers stripped the casing perfectly without damaging the wires inside. The crimper attached the RJ 45 heads securely on the first crimp. I pulled out the line tester just to see how it worked, and although it was simple, it did the job without any issues. All in all, I’m very impressed with the quality for such an inexpensive kit.

This is a great kit for the price--love the cable tester
So I had two 25 ft network cables that had the locking tabs broken off. I didn't want to replace the cables because they were running inside of walls, so I just jerry-rigged a temporary solution and had been living with that. They sell little retrofit pieces of plastic that replicate the locking tab, but I needed two, not 100, and the price was only slightly less. I ran across this kit and figured that although it's been many years since I've replaced cable ends it looked like this was something I could do. I got the kit yesterday and within an hour had replaced both plugs. It definitely takes patience and took me multiple attempts getting the wires into the plug because my particular cables had this plastic cross to keep the four pairs separated inside the jacket and that was making it very hard to squeeze and maintain the wire configuration during insertion. I wound up pulling the jacket back as far as I could and exposing as much of the wire as possible, and then before crimping pushing the jacket back up inside the plug. That seemed effective and everything worked when I was done. I love the cable tester. Those is a great pair of devices and gave me a lot of confidence that I had done everything right before putting everything back together. Simple to use, good instructions. The cable ends themselves seem to be a good quality and the tab protectors were fine as well, although they do take a little work to get onto the cut cable. Anyway, totally satisfied and would definitely recommend this tool. Just don't drink coffee before using it!

Very handy Ethernet tool kit works great
This network kit came in handy in making some cables for the house. Everything was presented well in the package and easy to use. I especially like the wire cutter and the mini wire stripper. The multipurpose crimper was a great one stop shop to handle wire preparation. The tester haven’t use but it looks good and it’ll work well. Tool Kit includes 1 Ethernet crimping tool with 20 pcs Cat5 Cat5e RJ45 Connectors, 20 pcs cover, 1 wire cutter, 1 network cable tester and 1 mini wire stripper. Overall feels really complete and each of the tools seem really durable and like they will hold up over repeated use. With this kit you can easily do it yourself and avoid a costly service call. The tools performed flawlessly. Recommended.

Needs Better Instructions
I purchased this unit on 01 Mar 2022 but did not use it until early June. The delay was mostly due to total confusion on how to use it. On-line videos and pictures were not a lot of help. The kit comes in a plain cardboard box approximately 11.6" x 4.6" x 2.7". All the tools were there but not much in the way of instructions (very important to a novice). The instructions for the tester cover eight different models. You need to identify your tester by matching it to a picture as there is no model number printed/stamped on the tester. Clearly, the instructions were written/translated by a non-English speaking person (e.g., "9v reduplicated battery is used in this tester. Battery is advised to change if any weak light appears.") The instructions also tell you to put one end of the cable into the main tester and turn it on; they never tell you to put the other end into the remote tester. All-in-all the tester works fine after you claw your way through the poorly written instructions. The "instructions" for using the crimp tool are printed on the back of the tool packaging. They consist of five pictures all showing how to connect a flat ribbon cable to the connector. I'm not sure if those are accurate, but I was using round Cat 5/5e/6 cables and those instructions certainly did not apply to my case. There is no model number on the crimp tool maybe because it is a special tool. My crimp tool has an extra notch for stripping a round cable not shown on the package. Fortunately, my son, who has crimped many connections, was with me when I first tried the tool. We could not find a way to cut the cable with this tool. We used a pair of side cutting pliers (not included). My son tried using the crimp tool to strip the round cable and told me to forget that. The little plastic stripper was 1000% better. There were no instructions about what color wire went in what pin slot. Since I was replacing a broken plug, I needed to know how to arrange the wires. Searching the internet, I found there were two standards (568A and 568B) and the wiring is not the same. After more searching, I found that the 568A standard was issued in 1995 and the 568B standard was issued in 2002. I have both types of cables. After deciding that I had a 568B cable, I cut off the old plug with the side cutter pliers, stripped the end of the cable with the plastic stripper and set about untwisting the four pairs of wires and arranging all the wires in the correct order between my thumb and forefinger. Then I had to use the side cutters again to snip the end of some of the wires to make them all the same length. Finally, I inserted them into the plug after some jiggling and coaxing. Then the plug with the wires was placed in the crimping section of the crimp tool and the handle was closed to crimp the wires into the plug. This later step worked flawlessly. I had purchased the crimp tool with the ratcheting handle which ensures the crimp is completely seated. Finally, I tested the cable using the supplied tester. Having a main and a remote tester was a real blessing as one end of the cable was on the first floor and the other end was on the second floor at the opposite end of the building. Everything tested fine and worked fine when connected to the LAN. In summary, the crimp tool works fine to crimp the wire to the plug, it did not work well for cutting or stripping a round Cat 5/5e/6 cable. The plastic stripping tool worked great. The tester worked great once you got past the poorly written instructions. I would recommend the ratcheting version of the crimp tool to ensure a good crimp.

Does what it says .
Does what it says , the tester works well , I have only used it a handful of times and the errors that occured where user error not the tools fault . The ends they give you are alright ,pretty standard. Overall if you need one this is not a bad choice .
