Julep Eyeshadow 101 Crème-to-Powder Stick Duo, Blush Pink & Mink Mauve

I’m so impressed with the Julep Eyeshadow 101 Crème-to-Powder Stick Duo in Desert & Champagne! These eyeshadow sticks make getting ready so quick and easy, yet the results look like I spent a lot more time on my makeup. The texture is creamy and smooth, gliding on effortlessly without tugging. Once applied, it sets to a soft powder finish that stays put all day—no creasing, smudging, or fading, even after a full day at work. The waterproof formula truly holds up, even in humidity or during long hours. I ordered a Julep crème to powder eyeshadow stick when there was a VERY good lightening deal going on. Never tried the brand before and was interested. Once I got my eyeshadow sticks, they were SO GOOD I immediately bought more Julep makeup products - more eyeshadow sticks, blush/lip sticks, lip matte color (one of the lip colors is seen in the photo for this review), etc. The eyeshadow sticks glide on very easily, with a strong color (meaning it only takes a swipe or two), are blend-able with each other (I have numerous colors in these eyeshadow sticks and I blend them each time on my eyelid - I have a few diff colors blended in the photo for this review), are long-lasting and smudge proof (I never ever sleep in makeup, however, I did forgot one night and the makeup stayed in place for 24 hours without smudging or creasing (the photo for this review is after sleeping in the makeup and wearing it for 24+ hours). In addition, it’s waterproof! This eyeshadow truly has it all! Now, my entire makeup regimen consists of Julep products. Just simply top notch products. You can do a natural, 5 min or less makeup routine with Julep products - that’s my daily routine (5 min or less, which is how long it took me to do the makeup in the photo for this review). Take the chance and buy these Julep eyeshadow sticks, you will be pleasantly surprised!

I wanted a waterproof taupe cream eyeshadow (not necessarily a stick) and this deal finally popped up several pages into my search. I have a couple of Julep products i really like (blush sticks) and having seen many single Julep shadow sticks for about the same price as this duo, I really couldn’t resist. I was really late to the game but what I hoped to find was a dupe (or at least as close as possible) for the Pat McGrath metallic taupe shadow that much to my dismay, has been discontinued. I saw a youtube makeup influencer rave about the Pat McGrath shade, claiming it was the perfect “‘one and done” product especially for those with cool toned skin. So I spent some exhausting time trying to find the Pat McGrath shadow SOMEWHERE but nope, not a one to be found. Naturally the next step was to check amazon for something similar. I already loved the Julep multi stick blushes but buying makeup online (esp on Amazon) is pretty much a crap shoot. But since the words describing these two Julep shadow sticks ticked all the boxes, I figured, what the hay. When they arrived today, I was extremely happy that BOTH are fantastic colors for me and it’s really nice to have both a taupe matte and a shimmer option. I just hope these sticks wear as well as the blush sticks. The color of the matte taupe stick is what I consider neutral, meaning not warm but not cool either. The shimmer shade is definitely cool but I guess cool tones are finally in vogue again and I couldn’t be happier. This is a very creamy formula pretty much on par with the Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown formulas. And they are much much better than the Sephora brand shadow sticks, which I (unfortunately) tried first....don’t go there. These glide on and are great with and without a shadow primer. I get a sheerer wash when I don’t use a primer and more depth of color when I do. I can probably use these two sticks to do a very nice daytime as well as evening, smokey eye and probably in about 5 minutes (which is amazing...it takes me forever). The matte shade will probably be great for the lower lashline and I’m looking forward to using these to create a “fox” eye look too. So I definitely recommend this duo. When I realized I could get two shades with 2 different finishes for the same price as other sellers are asking for just one, I had to pull the trigger.

I LOVE the Julep eyeshadow sticks. Super easy to apply and last all day (esp. with primer) on my very oily skin. I have gotten a lot more sensitive to eye makeup as I get older and these seem pretty mild on my skin. The Champagne color is great for everyday wear. Kind of a shimmery cream/gold color. The Desert Matte was a bit disappointing. I have very fair skin and it doesn't show on me at all. From the pics it looks like a light tan/sand color, but is actually more of a very pale pink (shown in pic). It would work better as a base to build on, rather than a stand-alone color. The only other thing I don't like is the sticks don't seem to last very long which sucks bc they are a bit pricey, but I like them a lot more than anything else I've tried so I'll probably keep forking over the $$.

I love how these two colors add some color on my eyelids without spending a lot of time shading and whatnot. I use one or the other. I literally roll the color all over my eyelids up to my brows. It’s quick and easy and gives a bright look to my eyes/face. It is not thick and doesn’t cake in the creases over time. It glides on and stays looking fresh all day. I hesitate to use shiny or glittery makeup because I’m an older women, but this adds the brightness without looking sparkly. I’m so excited I tried this, it’s one of my new favorite things.

I was deciding between Thrive cosmetics, Julep, or a cheaper brand. Overall Thrive and Julep performed the same. Thrive was slightly better and Julep had one break immediately but I’d pick them for the price and no shipping fee. The best/ most universal color for Thrive was Tara shimmer. It’s a warm copper. Juleps best color by far was Rose shimmer. It’s not super pink. It’s between pink and copper but it would be pretty and flattering on anyone. **NYX brand light pink eye shadow stick is gorgeous. It doesn’t glide quite as smoothly, but I still like it much more! I also like nyx (no affiliation) light pink blush is perfect for cheeks, eyes, and highlighting anything for a natural glow. If you want to make the inside corners of your eyes pop buy a true silver or white eyeliner. It don’t look fake or like too much esp if you blend! All of the light ones claiming to do make eyes pop (nude, pearl, peach, etc) do not work and just look muddied. Here is what didn’t work for me; The julep light pink didn’t show up at ALL on my eyelid. The pearl shimmer is kind of a dirty looking white and not in a good way. The mauve shimmer is not flattering for light brown eyes. Again it literally just looks like a dirty eyelid on its own. Even though one broke, I popped it back into the hole and it’s working so far, so if you want to try julep they do glide on smoothly and easily. Key is: I’d order a medium color. All of the light colors showed nothing and unless you’re going to build and make a Smokey eye the dark ones look dirty and unflattering. The medium times are pretty and quick!

I got the bronze shimmer/ desert package. I am in my 40s (sshhh don’t tell anyone), Caucasian fair skin, sensitive skin, greying blond hair. I use the bronze on the overall lid and the dessert under the brow. Good for a daily natural daytime wear that doesn’t look like you put your “whole face” on. Easy to apply with shaky hands. I imagine on my darker warm tone skinned sisters it would have a beautiful shimmer. Wears a long time. With sparse lid primer it didn’t really crease after even the whole day. The only con is the sponge on the end. Useless. Doesn’t blend it well, rather sponges it off. Remedied by using a brush or fingertip instead.

These Julep Eyeshadow Crème to Powder Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks last all day, and they are crease-proof, just as they say. I like these two neutral shades together. They are really pretty and shimmery. They do glide on nicely, too. I tried several colors, and I think these are my favorite. I did have an issue with another 2 pack where when I opened the bronze eyeshadow stick for the very first time, the suction of pulling off the lid/cap made the entire shadow stick fly out of the tube and onto the floor, before I even got a chance to use it. But that did not happen with any of the other shadow sticks, and I have 6 of them. I liked them enough that I still ordered my 6th one, even after the one broke like that upon first opening it.

The colour doesn't stay, doesn't have enough pigment and there are products easy better than this

I love this eye shadow. It’s very creamy and easy to apply and a great range of colours

They’re ok. There’s another well known brand (CT) that does the same thing and miles better. This product creases in my lid lines and is somewhat greasy. Also didn’t last the whole day, but does make my eye colour pop.
